I would love to say that we played well and that there is always next season.
However, we didn't play well and we are running out of next seasons with Tom Brady as our QB. Disappointed is all I can say for a team that i thought really had what i took to get a ring.

Oh and i hope Welker is gone cause this game proved to me that he is extremely overrated.

We came up short and that sucks, but lets not overreact. This team is getting better in most aspects. Still had a good season it just didn't end the way we wanted.

And I think the Niners are going to demolish the Ravens.

Re: After Talib went down, and Arrington took over, Patriots were done..

Again, the pass rush of NE could not get to Flacco, consistenly. With that, Flacco threw 20+ yd completions.
That shouldn't be a problem since they have Ninkovich.

The patriots are soft on both sides of the field and they need a image change.

After reading the posts on here: seriously people, be better fans. Half of you guys have no business rooting for a football team. Yeah, they got thoroughly outplayed and lost. It really sucks, and I don't like it any more than anyone else does, but it is what it is. Go chug some beers, get laid or something, and chill the **** out. Maybe some of you should consider becoming 49ers fans or something. Most of you won't be missed.
Baltimore wanted it more. Our linebackers cannot cover a paper bag. Congrats to the Ravens; they were the better team

In times like this, I think to myself, "at least we're not the Browns", and I feel a bit better.

A very poorly played game........ I hate to say it, but..... The better team won.

Well fellahs, it's been fun. I'm gonna take some time off from football, and be back later on. I've put off a couple rounds of surgery so as to see the season out, but now that it's ended, it's time to get them done.

Looking forward to Draft day and all the rigamarole that goes with it.

I'm gonna skip the superbowl, since there's nothing and no one in it I'm interested in. If I had my way, the whole affair would be taken out by a meter strike, but that's just me. :D

Have a great time all, and I'll see you in a couple months.

Re: Patriots/Ravens postgame thread... That's All, Folks.

Resign Edelman. Give Welker's money to Dwayne Bowe, Wallace or Jennings. I love Welker but he is somewhat limited. His drops have hurt us two seasons in a row. We also have Gronk and Hern to operate in the middle.
How sad that we couldn't go deep with 2mins to go because our team refuses to have a deep threat.

See you later Welker. You might go into the Pats Hall of Fame but you are not Troy Brown, Deion Branch or David Givens.

Those guys made the plays they had to in the playoffs. Enjoy going back to being a no name next year with whatever other team you play for.

This qualifies as the dumbest ball washing post of the year. Congrats your the winner!!

Always next year. Had a bad feeling before i left for the game today. Let balt win that as at half you could just feel it wasnt right. Oh well. I tale losses much better now. Especially with the injuries ect. Not sure they would have beaten 49ers

Re: After Talib went down, and Arrington took over, Patriots were done..

Just copy the Giants and draft a pass rusher every year until you hit on a couple that will put consistent pressure on most (if not all) QBs.

That is the best way to hide a weak secondary.

That was shameful. I have nothing good to say about this team.

Haha, LOVING IT!!!! C'YA cheats!! Karma is a beatch, huh? Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is SO sad and pathetic is that the only way to beat the Patriots, is if their top players are injured. If I knew this team could be relatively healthy for just ONE season, I would put ALL my money on them winning the SuperBowl. ALL my money.

It is absolutely disgusting to see that our top players have been dealt huge injuries over the past several years, all involving the SAME player causing them! First Brady, then Welker, then Gronk, now Ridley. Arguably all of those were caused by the same player, Bernard Pollard. That is just appalling.

Not only that, but injuries and plays in general have come at the absolute WORST times for this team and I hate making excuses but I cannot even explain how UNLUCKY they have been. That is actually the furthest thing from an excuse.

No denying any of the above.

I have to say - if you are going to build the team around the offense and field a subpar defense year after year then you HAVE TO DO TWO THINGS:

1. Find a legit #1, tall, fast wide receiver
2. Get a stud offensive lineman or two to help the running game

Without these things, the team is neither here nor there. It is neither a winner on offense nor a winner on defense. Currently it is just a consistent team which is among the best in the league.

Welker with another key drop in a big spot. changed the whole complexion of the game.

The offense left far too many points on the field in the first half and then that first drive of the 2nd half.

The whole team flat out sucked in the 2nd half once the Ravens decided to pass the ball. Losing Talib screwed us big time and not having Gronk killed us in the red area.

This team needs a guy who can go up and get the ball deep. Building the offense around a guy like Welker works in the regular season against the likes of Buffalo and Miami but we keep running into these teams in the playoffs that punch him in the face and we stall.

Big congratulations are in order for the Ravens, just looked like they wanted it more and completely obliterated us in the second half. Combine that with us driving the ball well the whole game only to have it repeatedly stall just outside the endzone, key injuries on O (Gronk and Ridley) and D (Talib, Jones) and two freak turnovers that are pretty much impossible to mitigate, and it just wasn't meant to be today.

I'm a lot calmer than I thought I'd be. Losing sucks, but it sure beats watching a lead slip slowly and painfully away in a Superbowl.

Thanks Patriots for another great season, hopefully next year you come out in the playoffs with the same fire the Ravens have shown the past few weeks. Go Pats!! :rocker:

Re: After Talib went down, and Arrington took over, Patriots were done..

Pretty much...once Talib went down the Ravens opened up the pass game with great success.

We also really missed Gronk today. We were horrible once we got into the Ravens territory.
