More than their pass rush, their big secondary worries me especially if they can cover the TE's well. This has to be WWW's game .

Good thing Edelman won't be playing. :bricks:

Whats is the Vegas line? Those guys always seem to be on the ball.

His reasoning is because Bruce Irvin is too fast for our offense? Obviously doesn't understand the concept of the no huddle and mismatches. Let's see how fast he is when Ridley is running right at him with Vollmer and Gronk leading the way.

Yeah, that's a head-scratcher. I'm not one to take offense because somebody picked against the Patriots. Everybody is allowed their own crystal ball, and mine is just as foggy as theirs. But what on earth suggests that the Patriots' offense sets up as especially vulnerable to a speed rusher?

Their lack of a power running game? Their unathletic, short-limbed OTs? Their commitment to the vertical passing game, and a QB who can't adjust on the fly? Their lack of weapons for screen plays and play-action? Umm....

1. Patriots accumulate over 350 yards of offense against Seattle

In the clash between the NFL's No. 1 offense (New England at 439.4 yards per game) and No. 1 defense (Seattle at 258.6 yards allowed per game), the final tally will side closer to the Patriots. A lot depends on whether New England tight end Aaron Hernandez plays, because he's a tough matchup for Seattle.

Six out of eight writers at the Dallas Morning News think the Pats will win the game; they're split 4-4 on whether the Pats will cover the 3½ point spread.

Elliot Harrison at NFL.com has the Pats winning 23-20.

Oh, to pick the Seattle Seahawks at home ... Difficult, this selection is. Yet, the football gods have moved around the pieces, karmically repaying the Seahawks for their last home game ( Tate Gate). Tom Brady overcomes two interceptions -- including a pick six -- to pull this one out in overtime. Russell Wilson's penchant for doing just enough to win will be thwarted by an opportunistic, if not dominant, defense that leads the AFC in takeaways with 14. Bill Belichick's club led the conference in the same category last season with 34.

All four panelists at FoxSports.com have the Pats winning and covering the spread.

Another legit Game of the Week nominee, with Patriots putting that big, great offense up against a Seahawks defense that is terrific. Seattle also is a different (better) team at home. Upset watch here, but I can't not like an English attack that has Tom Brady AND averages 165 yards on the ground. By the way, anybody remember that Pete Carroll was Pats head coach in 1997-99? (Anybody care?)

Walter Football predicts the Pats win 20-19.

NEW ENGLAND OFFENSE: The Patriots seem unstoppable right now. They've scored 83 points the past two weeks. They converted a billion third downs against Denver. Who could possibly bet against Tom Brady and his improved rushing attack right now?

Well, there should be an asterisk next to that 83 because New England has beaten up on two ultra-crappy defenses. The Bills and Broncos can't stop anyone. The Seahawks, of course, are a different animal. They have a terrific secondary that will put the clamps on Brady's receivers, and they also dominate the line of scrimmage. The Patriots' offensive output the past two weeks has made everyone forget how much of a liability the interior of the offensive line happens to be. Seattle has a huge advantage there.

Oh, and as for the Patriots' new, awesome running backs, the Seahawks stop the rush as well as anyone except for the Dolphins. They're second against ground attacks, limiting opposing runners to an even three yards per carry. They haven't allowed more than 77 rushing yards to anyone this season.

SEATTLE OFFENSE: Both scoring attacks figure to struggle in this matchup. Bill Belichick is a defensive mastermind who excels at taking away one aspect of an opposing offense. He'll do his best to make sure that Marshawn Lynch is stymied. Of course, he doesn't have to try very hard because his team is already fourth versus the rush (3.3 YPC).

If Lynch can't do anything, the Seahawks will be punting often. Save for one throw, Russell Wilson was fairly decent against the Panthers, but his receivers could actually get open versus a Carolina secondary that was missing top corner Chris Gamble. The Patriots don't exactly have a stalwart defensive backfield themselves, but they at least have their key players healthy. Seattle's wideouts just don't have the capability to get open against starting talent.

In addition to worrying about his receivers being covered, Wilson will have to avoid New England's pass rush. Chandler Jones is the leading candidate for Defensive Rookie of the Year, and he figures to have a slight edge over Russell Okung, who has already committed a ridiculous seven penalties this season. Meanwhile, right tackle Breno Giacomini is a sieve who has been exposed all year.

Peter Queen I mean King SLAMS Pats every chance he gets. It started back with S'gate he never lets up on Pats & BB. He was on WFAN Radio yesterday sayin that he's pickin Seahawks.

Pats win, or lose, a tight one. I just think this one will be a nailbiter.

If I were placing bets, here's what would give me pause about the Seahawks:

They have yet to beat a team that is above average on EITHER side of the ball.

All five of Seattle's opponents have ranked in the bottom half of the league in defense. Just two of their opponents have ranked in the the top half of the league in offense...and both games were losses.

There's definitely talent on that team, but until they've gone through the gantlet of the next two Sundays (Patriots & 49ers) it's hard to say who they really are.

Well they beat GB...sort off.

Oops, I switched offense and defense...it's zero teams in the top half in OFFENSE. (Yes, that includes the league's #17 scoring team, Green Bay. :) OK, the Packers playing SF, Chicago and Seattle might have something to do with that!)

Good that means we're guaranteed to win now! LOL

Dang, would have liked to roll into this game as the underdog, but ok, I'll take it. As long as we win! Polls are pretty useless except for a general guide for pickem games.

Big secondary? Even at 6'3 their corners will be outpowered and outmuscled by Gronk's 6'6 frame of awesomeness. And there's no linebacker or safety in the league who can stay with AH. He makes others players look ridiculously outmatched in the open field. And don't forget the RUN game to top that off! ;)

Eh, not so sure about that. King has written a few glowing articles about the Pats and their players post-Spygate. I remember an article going into 2009 in which he, quite literally, worshipped the ground Brady walked on in typed form.

Holy moly all of them took Pitt...how did that go for them?

The Pats HAVE to learn to win low-scoring games. I think this will be a very low score and I really hope the Pats win!

With Hernandez back i highly doubt that...i dont think any Team in this League could hold us to 20 if we are healthy. Brady with a Running Game is next to impossible to stop.

Brady sometimes gives King some exclusive quotes or whatever for articles; King isn't going to burn that bridge.

King was a DB about Spygate, because, much like the rest of the media, they know they are getting nothing from Belichick regardless of what they write about him.

Worst thing that could happen for SEA is everyone spouting their vaunted home field and tough D. So is BB. Pats come into this one neither overconfident nor unprepared.

This guys an idiot. Denver was ranked 9th vs the run before the Pats game. They're now ranked 21st because of the Pats game.

Just wanted to add that seahawk fans seem to think they've faced all world offenses that are actually bottom half in the league. When you take out the seahawks game they're STILL ranked bottom of the league.
