Too bad. He was supposed to be a steal in round two (most mocks had the Pats taking him in the first round), but he never progressed and actually regressed. At least the Pats don't keep the dead weight around just because they are high draft picks.

Oh great...
Strange that there isn't any trade market out there this year...I'd have taken even a 6th or 7th draft choice rather than cutting him...

I am bit suprised. From the few pre-season games I saw he wasn't terrible.

Most people on the board won't have anything to complain about now with Meriweather and now Butler gone.

I dont care how many draft picks are "wasted" as long as BB builds a SB contending team with depth year in and year out.

BTW I was sitting in the nose bleed section for the Giants game and was closer to their WR than Darius.

BBTW Best wishes to him though. Seems like a good guy.

I guess this is the end of an era, no more smallish types CBs on the Patriots anymore.

Bye Samuel, Bye Hobbs, Bye bye Butler.

All CBs are 5'10 or taller and pushing 200 lbs.

Along with the 4-3 they may be trying to play more press coverage. It just goes to show you, if you complain for 8 or more years some times you get your way...

Call me crazy, but I think his drafts actually improved post-Pioli.

That said, Pioli's drafts have been pretty solid in KC, the Tyson Jackson pick notwithstanding.
