Okay, that's it. This thread is driving me insane.

Good grief.

I feel your pain.

Leinart hasnt proven anything his entire stay with AZ, Cassel has with excallent results. How funny would it be if Cassel is the starting qb for the Cardinals while Leinart backs him up lol...

I really did LOL.

People keep talking about trading with Detroit for their #1 pick. I dont think most of us are looking for their FIRST #1 pick, the #1 pick in the whole draft. I know i dont want it purely from a salary cap perspective. I personally think their 2nd #1(in the trade with Dallas for Roy Williams, which happens to be #20 in the draft) and a 3rd or something next year would be ideal for MC. Detroit could then use the overall #1 to start building up their interior line(Offense OR defense) and have a good starting QB locked up(Assuming they sign MC long term) and more high picks from round 2 up.

Seems like the most logical thing to do for Detroit.

Guys...

The point of the thread is what was IN the rotoworld report. NO ONE is saying Cassel would go to the Cardinals. Your opinions on Cassel compared to Warner or Leinart have literally NOTHING to do with anything in this thread, except for the fact that you've all misunderstood and now hijacked it.

Good grief.

What exactly is meant to be discussed in this thread then? If we aren't meant to talk about Warner possibly leaving in relation to Cassel possibly going to Arizona then why exactly was this posted?

And Warner's career resurrection has not benefitted from Boldin and Fitzgerald?

I don't think he's benefited quite as much, no. Fitzgerald is a beast but he's no Moss, and Boldin didn't even play yesterday. Not to mention that Welker is also a tremendous asset. Regardless, Im not knocking Cassel, I think he's a good QB, but Warner has proven he can get it done without Fitzgerald and at this point in his career, has shown more than Cassel has. That's not a dig at Cassel, I think very highly of Warner.

If i'm in charge, here's the trade im offering the Cards the day after the lose. They can have Cassel, Maroney, AND Gaffney, in exchange for Fitzgerald. Keep in mind that if I was in charge, I would also expand the cheerleader squad to 53, and insist that they wear only a top, and the official Patriots thongs when on the field :D

Yes, I realize this post has little to do with the original topic, but the thread was hijacked a long time ago

OK a bit of economics 101. If Warner is on the market as a free agent this means the supply of starting QBs increases. The demand for starting QBs is the same as Arizona have Leinart. This means the price we can exact for Cassel is now lower than it was. Why? Because a trade partner will ask whether Warner for free is better value (not a better player) than Cassel for a 1st round pick. EG: Detroit have the option of drafting a QB but bringing in Warner to develop him for a year or two. Or Minnesota could bring in Warner and draft a WR in the first.

If I were a team in need of a QB I would probably favour Cassel but If I could give him enough protection and wanted to win right away Warner would be an attractive alternative (unlike Orton et al.)
