Re: Antonio Pierce "I will laugh when I see them tonight"

Some of you people really need to shed the gossamer skin.

Gosh, sorry if not everyone thinks exactly the way you do. Is there someplace we can go to discuss things that interest us without upsetting you? Or perhaps you could list all the things we need to do in order to be able to post here.

Thank you for being a prime example.

I understand that winning gives you the right to brag about your conquest. You'll have to explain to me what gives you the right to laugh at a defeated opponent.

Please, the Patriots do it all the time. They are the biggest offenders of the post-game trash talk. They don't talk before, but they sure do after.

Or do you forget BB himself talking about how awful Freddie Mitchell was in the SB and going out of his way to tell the reporter "you can print that"?

This was a nothing comment by Pierce that was merely elicited by a baiting reporter. And for those disparaging Pierce's talents, again, you're just giving credence to the Boston fan stereotype.

Pierce is an excellent LB and would be starting on this team.

What an arrogant azzhole this guy is (quote is near the end of the article)

He will not be laughing when the Giants are home in January as I do not think they will finish any better than 3rd in the NFC East - Possibly last if the Eagles play well (I think Washington surprises and finishes 2nd in that division)

I wish Pierce would play tonight, then maybe the offense could give him something to laugh about - like an injury to keep him laughing on the sidelines for a few weeks.

I also wish they would stop calling tonight's game a rematch - There will be lots of scrubs playing thier last game as a pro and bench warmers then starters next week so 'rematch' is a dumb word for this game.

What? You can't read??

"Why? Well, seven months ago, the Patriots were doing a little trash talking on the field in Phoenix, laughing at the Giants and inviting them to their postgame parties and parades. That, of course, was before the final 2:39 when the Giants marched to the winning touchdown of Super Bowl XLII and earned the championship with a 17-14 win.

Haha. Seriously. If I didn't know any better I'd suspect satire ...

I will laugh when the Giants lose their first home game of the season to the Redskins. I will laugh when the NY media starts calling out the Giants to be "flukes".

But really, I can understand why Pierce would be irritated with the Pats. I read in another article that after the Pats scored their final touchdown and kicked off, one of the Pats defensive lineman were barking over towards the Giants sidelines telling them to not bother bringing out their offense; the game was over! The Pats got served, big time!

Pierce is anything but an "excellent" linebacker. Case and point, many of us haven't even heard of him until last season. Some haven't heard of him until this thread.

He went to the Pro Bowl following the 2006 season.

Derrick Anderson went to the Pro Bowl last year. After having watched him at the end of the 2007 season, I can honestly say that he's not what I would consider an "excellent" quarterback.

Pierce is an ahole but he is a good LBer too.

He really came on his last year with the skins and has been a very good LBer for the giants the past few years. He doesn't always make the biggest plays but he is a very good Lber who gets a lot of tackles and is usually in the right place and not getting beat.

maybe it's just me but when i see stuff like i'm not mad at pierce. i am still totally bullsh!t that the pats played like ****y sh!tbags and we lost the greatest bragging rights in all of sports. overconfident @ssholes! i would give anything to have the pats play that super bowl one more time.

The fact "no one" on this board has heard of him is irrelevant. He is a Pro Bowl LB who would be starting on the Patriots. The opinion of a bunch of myopic homers does not change that.

Starting on the Patriots? Nevermind that he isn't the prototype 3-4 linebacker that BB looks for, I guess.

like Victor Hobson, Chad Brown, Monty Biesel. ;)

Well, at least if he did come to the Patriots, he would be lumped in with a very successful group there.

What gives me the right? I am a fan. I have the right to do as I choose.
If this is in reference to Pierce, well, he does have the right to laugh and gloat. His team won the game. He's earned his bragging rights. If he chooses to laugh and gloat over it, what can we do about it? The Pats gave him the right to do that when our defense choked away the game on that final drive.
If they were taunting them before the game was even over, then I think that the Giants have even more right to beat their chests and have the last laugh. If the Pats did indeed taunt the Giants during that last drive, maybe our guys should have stayed focused and kept their mouths shut, instead of taunting their opponent before the game was over.
Call me heartless, but I'm more pissed off at our Team for choking than at Pierce for wanting to laugh at our team. The Giants have earned the right to Gloat.

'Team Of The Decade' is more appropriate than Dynasty IMO

It's all good......if Brady plays until 2014, with 3 or 4 or 5 more rings (ahem) - we could be the team of the CENTURY!!

Re: Antonio Pierce "I will laugh when I see them tonight"

The Giants have shown to be really bad winners through all of this. From these quotes to Strahan's "Stomp You Out" classless rant during their ralley. Yes, the Pats have been known to do their own classless things like the post game celebration of the Lights Out Dance against San Deigo, but they leave it on the field. .

Merriman is an arrogant douche.. they deserved that special post game show. It was Pats getting even not so much being classless...
