Re: HOT: Belichick to address the Nation tonight!

will be interesting for people who want to believe him.Rest of the media will just snicker and take his statements out of context and go after him further.just my prediction.

Jeez, you're going out on a limb. :D

But seriously, I am glad he will be speaking. I am actually excited to watch the CBS Evening News.

Re: HOT: Belichick to address the Nation tonight!

I'm in CO..so kinda confused about timing..6.30ET so its sud b 4.30 our time right? :(

Re: HOT: Belichick to address the Nation tonight!

Could be nothing, but this will most likely be epic.

Well...now that we have the two absolute extremes of the results covered...

Hopefully Belichick is a bit more open about this now that he's seen the results of 'letting the media run with it'. These past seven months have been brutal as a fan (off the field, of course), I couldn't imagine what Bill has had to put up with. He was pretty open in his press conference two weeks after the Super Bowl, hopefully we see more of that candid, open and honest attitude from him. I really think a very contrite, honest interview will go a long way to repairing some of the damage this has caused. Explaining the 'misinterpretation', talking further about Walsh's involvement with--and eventual release from--the Patriots organization...I just really hope we hear some of what we on this board all know to be true.

Re: HOT: Belichick to address the Nation tonight!

ESPN's spin will most likely be equally epic.
I'll tell you the spin now.
Jaws: That should settle it
The rest of he idiots: He's a liar and a cheat!

Re: HOT: Belichick to address the Nation tonight!

I'm just glad someone is willing to listen to the otherside for once.

yeah, because BB begs to get more coverage, but all the news outlets turn down his request to be interviewed.

If BB announced he was going to make a statement and hold a press conference where he would answer questions about spygate, it would be covered live by NFLN and ESPN. And would have as many reporters as Godell and Specters.

Re: Belichick interview with Armen Keteyian on CBS News tonight

I already got a transcript of the interview, to sum it up, it went like this.

Bill Belichick, in the light of the spygate scandal, many people have said that you should be suspened, or even fired from the nfl. What do you make of these comments?

BB: Any questions about the cheifs?

Do you feel as if the superbowl was lost due to the distractions from the supposed walk thru tape of the rams?

BB: We're focues on week 1, we're thinking about the cheifs

Do you beilve there will be any legal actions taken agaisnt the boston hearld?

BB: Did you have a question about KC?

did spy....

BB...cheifs?

Gate...KC?

any questions about KC?

I hope he rips Schlereth.

Re: Belichick interview with Armen Keteyian on CBS News tonight

I think the best thing BB could do for himself and for the Patriots is to just tell everything. Talk about everything he's learned about spying/recon/video/image/signals/etc, from who he's learned it, what he knows for a fact other teams do, what his coaches have told him occurs with their previous employers.

Just bring the entire house down so all these naive ppl realize that the Patriots haven't invented anything here

I know but how many have seeked a one on one interview with him lately? My guess is most are more interested in what the Walshs & Specters have to say. They've come to expect very little info from BB.

I would lay money that the Pats turn down interview requests daily and their isn't a sports reporter in the country that would turn down a one-on-one interview with him. That if he called any talk radio show in country they would have him on as long as he wanted to be.

Or "this Steve Czaban on the first team on sports, I have Bill Belichick, coach of the New England Patriots on line two, but we are going to leave him on hold as we chit chat about the latest developments in women's Olympic swimming." I don't think so.

Well yeah, but at this level there's a certain amount of political maneuvering that goes on behind the scenes that would absolutely preclude this from happening. The NFL would go to great lengths to make sure any other evidence is kept in the dark; as many have said, doing something like what is listed above would be like opening Pandora's box...and with the media as bloodthirsty as they are these days the NFL would be crippled.

I think, given the enormity of the issue (at least, as it pertains to football and the NFL), Belichick would be smart to take the high road: defend himself, his coaches and other personnel, and eliminate some confusion regarding Walsh and the walkthrough, and leave it at that. Even one mention from Belichick about another coach, another team, a rumor about another coach from 1980, whatever...I think it would turn into a bloody mess that no one wants to see.

I don't want to see it.

But reading this board I feel there are plenty of people who are mad at all the hypocrites and would like to see the mess and would be laughing there asses off as Goodell would be the one to blame for opening the box in the first place.

Re: Belichick interview with Armen Keteyian on CBS News tonight

I hope he rips Schlereth.

I know it will never happen, but seriously... how great would that be?

Re: Belichick interview with Armen Keteyian on CBS News tonight

What's the point? Unless Belichick can show hard evidence of another team cheating or something of that magnitude, the NYT, ESPN, and all the other haters will be spinning everything Belichick says against him by morning.

I honestly think at this point, the best defense for the Patriots is push to help the story die rather than keeping it going. I think the Patriots missed their window for a good PR offensive.

Re: Belichick interview with Armen Keteyian on CBS News tonight

BB at 6:30....Walsh at 8....Hmmm I will be missing Walsh..the Celts!! Do NOT want to see liars like MW..

Belichick always takes the high road. Unlike that d-bag Tony Dungy.

Although, BB did take some shots at both Freddie Mitchell and Anthony Smith. But they were players and both were asking for it. Other than that, BB truly takes the high road every time and refuses to say anything negative, especially about fellow coaches, even when he very well could.

I have a feeling BB comes out with two guns up on this one. I wouldn't expect any specific attacks on a guy like Schlereth: he's not a very important piece of this story, nor is he a major member of the football media. I expect him to go at Walsh, hint at other teams cheating, take a swipe at Specter, and maybe some other stuff who knows.
