Umm, you did hear Peter King say the Colts have done this too, right? Not that two wrongs make a right.
Cousins,
First of all, they have all done it including the Jets. Well we got caught in a sting so bad for us. To say we were cheaters because we got caught is one thing, but to say we we're the Dirty Dynasty, all or wins are tainted and have the teams go back and check their videos to see if the Patriots wins were because of a helpful guess (people this stealing is not a perfect science) as to what the defensive calls were on the field or they actually got out played.
The majority of this nation say they have cheated on their taxes (can this be called a competitive advantage?). Yet only a percentage get caught. I am not advocating cheating on your taxes, nor does it make it right. But if you do cheat are you going to single out your neighbor and call the IRS? What if he retaliates? You'll get caught too. My point is let's see how many of the other 31 teams will go on board this train and say "we have never done anything like this so let's crucify the Patriots". Teams will be very careful on how they react to this.
If all these smart teams that say they suspect we were stealing signals all of this time would allow their defensive coaches calling in plays to get exposed then they are stupid or how's this....perhaps change the signals so it screws up this big "competitive advantage" and it messes up our espionage factor.
BB states, he was under the impression that he interpreted the rules one way, RG says wrong, it was a no-no. He didn't take drugs, he didn't kill dogs, he didn't laugh and wink as one of his team players tried to ruin the career of another player (nothing was ever said about that) by trying to cripple him, he isn't on a nationally televised network saying the Pats team should forfeit a game and all the past Pats wins are tained yet he won a Super Bowl as an O-Lineman for a team that advocated trying to maim the opposing players by diving at knees and legs to gain a "competitive advantage", and his running back on the other network says the Pats wins are tainted too and he made his yards over this O-Lineman, and oh by the way, wasn't your teammate and his wife selling some substances and did either of you have a "taste"? He wasn't on a competition committee that changed the rules of the NFL game to specifically help his team. BB didn't call the league to complain about how the Dolphins cheated last year and their players admitted it. What BB did was interpret the rules the way he saw them. He was wrong. He apologized. He got caught and all the other 31 didn't.
The information that BB was supposed to be getting from these films was never received at the now infamous "halftime mad scientist project" , yet stupid Jets S Rhodes says it's like "they knew what we were doing". So "idiot boy" on NFL Live says the game should be forfeited. The Pats had no "half time" information dummy!
BB will have to pay the piper. I think the league and the other coaches who add to this will be making a big mistake. They know he does it (and they aren't prepared?) and you know what, so do they. BB might be made an example here, but Mangini is toast and so are the Jets around the league.
We know the Colts, the Dolphins, the Panthers and some of the other well known usual suspects and many more will be very quiet about this.
We got busted but this was not any where near the crime these people who want our heads are maintaining. Because everyone else does it does not make it right, but let the action fit the crime and lets not be crazy.
