Do the Ravens scare you?

So they'll be playing a great defense missing their 2 of their top 5 offensive threats and Pats will steamroll baltimore?
2 of their top 5? I hope you're not suggesting Amendola is a top 5 offensive threat.

Gronk
Edelman
White
Bennett
Lewis (will be 3 once eased back in)
Hogan
Mitchell
Amendola

Mitchel has surpassed Amendola. I love Danny as much as the next guy and will always appreciate his clutch catches but the fact of the matter is that Mitchell has surpassed him and Danny is about 8 in the pecking order. I'm not losing any sleep for him being out of this game.

I'm not scared of any team.

Really wouldn't base anything on them murdering the lolphins. Remember Jimmy G was on pace to put up like 450 passing yards and 40 points against the lolphins before he got hurt and the lolphins little win streak was vastly overrated due to the fact that all but 1 of the teams right now are picking top 10 in the draft and the 1 team that isn't was Steelers which that was the game Roethlisberger got injured and their margin of victory was very thin in all those games.

According to the geniuses at Wikipedia, the Ravens are a major rival of the Patriots.

We've played them twelve times, winning nine. Meanwhile, we've played the Raiders 34 times, including three seminal and critical games which included historic events. Nope, you're not going to find that in Wiki, although they do impressively acknowledge the existence of the Bills-Patriots series.

Everybody together now, one, two, three, "...because it's the Patriots..."
The only teams we've played fewer times than the Ratbirds are the 'Skins, Bucs, Lions, Texans, Jags, Packers, and Panthers

Check out how many of amendolas catches have been for first downs... He moves the chains and is there for Brady on countless third 8+....he's a big loss

Malcolm Mitchell has more catches for first downs than Amendola

In fact here is how first downs breakdown for the Pats

Edelman- 38
Bennett-22
White- 20
Mitchell- 18
Hogan- 17
Amendola- 14
Lewis- 4

So Amendola literally last on the list when you consider Lewis has only been back for 3 games.

Of course it's better to have Amendola but don't sit here and throw out **** that you clearly have no clue about.

But then again this is to be expected from you because you post nothing but chicken little, doom-and-gloom ****.

Let me put it this way:

I'm not scared of them. However, before the schedule is made, if I know they're going to be on it, I'm hoping for a 1:00 or 4:15 game so I can get some sleep that night.

Sigh. I knew this would happen.

Pats are 6-2 lifetime at home vs. Balt.
Brady is 5-1 at home vs. Balt.

The meme is dumb. No team (or fan) should be "AFRAID!!!!!!!!!" of another team, and of course the Ravens "AREN'T SCARED!!!!" to go against the Patriots. But the Patriots come away with a win against them and have more often than not. Just like they have against pretty much every team at home. God that narrative drives me up a wall.

Ravens have a healthy Speedy Offense our Defense is somewhat banged up...I hope we don't see Justin Coleman among the actives that could spell trouble. Sorry to hear CB Rowe went down. I would rather Cyrus Jones instead of Coleman who is a walking completion out there.

Be careful, your going to get accused by the glass half empty posters as being a "kool-aid drinker" who "doesn't see the deep one and done issues this team has" :D

This thread is quite a good one for the hand-wringers and pearl-clutchers to squawk in solidarity about the upcoming Raven apocalypse. Almost like a battery farm of chicken littles. Are we missing any of the usual suspects?

Just to clarify for those currently experiencing "fight or flight" panic over the game - no, we don't expect the Patriots to "steamroll" the Ravens, they almost always end up in a dogfight in these games. Yes, there is a chance we can lose, but odds are that we won't. No, Jumpball Joe is not an elite QB, but yes, occasionally he can hit a few deep balls and play competently. No, our defense is not the 85 Bears but our ability to stop the run is improving and we're starting to get turnovers. So we feel good about our chances and look forward to a tough, competitive game that will tell us a lot about this teams' resolve and likely chances in the post-season. But you won't find us gnashing our teeth and whining like beaches even if they somehow manage to lose this game. Man up for Gawd's sake, you're embarrassing yourselves.

The ravens are peaking at the right time. It won't be easy. Offense will have to play alot better than it did today.

Last week they barely beat Cincy at home and Cincy was without AJ Green or Giovoni Bernard on offense. Cincy's entire offense revolves around Green.

And they lost to Dallas three weeks ago.

Let's not go overboard. They have been playing mostly bad and mediocre teams.

And you're surprised? The jets suck and the Hawks offense is literally hit or miss. It's weird.

The BEST NFL defenses are basically Denver and Seattle IMO... nobody else really scares me.

Well, that "hit or miss" Seahawks offense definitely hit against our D.

The "sucky" Jets scored 24 against the Ravens so we should just roll over their D, right?

You go ahead and keep thinking the Pats are an offensive juggernaut without Gronkowski and and now Amendola....

Does not include yesterday...

Fourteen of Amendola’s targets have come on third down, resulting in 12 catches, 10 first downs and two touchdowns. His total of four touchdown receptions this season are a career high and are tied with Bennett and James White for tops on the team. Also, his touchdown-per-catch ratio is No. 3 in the league, a remarkable achievement given his limited opportunities.

But you go ahead and think not having Danny Amendola is awesome....

True but our offense's still finding itself without gronk. I feel our defense will have to find a way and create a turnover or two.

Amendola has 23 catches for 243 yards and 4 TDs for the season. He is seventh on the team in receptions, seventh on the team in receiving yards, and tied for first in TDs. If you look at the last four games, he has had 7 receptions for 54 yards and 1 TD COMBINED! He is averaging 1.75 receptions for 13.5 yards, and .25 TDs over that timeframe. I think the Pats can find that production elsewhere.

Sure when he catches the ball, he is converting a third down into a first. But where you are overvaluing that production is that you don't point out the fact that it happens only one or two times a game. That can be reproduced. Malcolm Mitchell is already becoming that guy.

And of course his TD to catch ratio is so high. He only has 23 receptions for the year with 4 TDs. He has played 11 games and is averaging a little over 2 catches a game with 36.4% of his catches being TDs.

no......I am not afraid of the Ravens

they have not won on the road since september.....when they managed to squeak games out against the jags and browns

I am very unafraid.....terrance west doesn't scare me, their old guy passing targets don't scare me....their pass defense doesn't scare me

they won't make the playoffs

The Rams defense is a good defense and the Pats scored 26 points on them.

And the Ravens' offense has been struggling to find itself all year and still hasn't. Sure they scored 38 against a bad Dolphins' defense. But they hadn't scored more than 21 points in the five previous weeks other than against a bad Browns team that gave the Ravens' offense a short field all game. Three of those games, the Ravens scored under 20 points. And they still only scored 28 points.
