2016 Week 3 Patriots vs Texans Post-Game Thread

Superbowl Contender, Physical Division Rival, Physical Upstart ... All three went down to two QB's with a combined starting record of 3-0. I can't get behind renaming the Lombardi Trophy, or even the Lamar Hunt trophy - I'm too much a traditionalist.

However, The Bill Belichick Coach of the Year Trophy sounds pretty good to me. A Golden Clipboard inscribed with the Year and Winner's Name. At the bottom - "He did his job."

I think that the League doesn't, but should, recognize the team that produces the best League Won-Lost record. How about the Bellichick or Brown trophy awarded to that team?

Two numbers stand out for me:

1:36 -- the amount of time left on the clock in the third quarter when Houston finally crossed the fifty-yard line on offense.

7 ----- the number of punts by Ryan Allen that resulted in Houston starting a drive inside of their own 20-yard line.

With two amazing coaching jobs against the Cards and Texans do you think they actually might make Belichick the Coach of the Year. BTW, isn't it great to have a genuine Rocket Scientist as the DC! Go Matt Patricia for DCOY!

Two words. The Referees.. Go back to the post game thread. The hack job by the refs is what killed us..

To the people who were slamming Cannon because of the Brissett sack. Please go back and watch it. It is not Cannon's job to pick up the LB who is stunting from outside the LT through the middle of the O-line. That is the job of the 3 interior linemen. And they blew it. Stunts and the Delayed LB blitz have been issues for Centers under Scarnecchia.. Probably the only "achilles heel" his centers have.

Outside that, the O-line was amazing.

McDaniels had some pretty great calls tonight, thought there were 3-4 that just didn't make sense. He must have finally heard my yelling from Texas to run the damn ball outside the tackles on the goal line. Granted, it took two DPI penalties to give them enough plays to finally figure it out, but man. That play was there all night for Blount. It might have even been there for White had they used him like that on a Toss sweep..

BTW, anyone see how absolutely pissed off Belichick was on that 1st down that the Refs gave Houston. I don't know who it was that he reamed, but man, that guy's butthole was 10 times bigger after that..

Still don't understand why he didn't challenge it.. The replays clearly showed they mis-spotted the ball by a good yard.

Freeny was the one low-light of the defense.. Guy can't cover worth a damn.. And yes, people were talking about him in the game thread.

And speaking of that Game Thread, man did it suck. Considering the fact that we DIDN'T GIVE UP A SINGLE POINT, but "Nuk" (DeAndre Hopkins) caught some crazy stuff over Ryan and a few calls weren't made by BB and the offense had a few troubles early on were enough for some people to say "This team is stupid" among other things. Shame on those people. Like I said, you root for a very good team. 31 other fanbases are jealous of us at this very moment. We should take pride in what they have accomplished. Not saying don't have concerns about anything, but to say things like "The D sucks" when it gave up a goose egg is unreal.

Exactly why I stayed away from it tonight. Better just to enjoy the Controlled Demolition.

Just spent some time on the other AFCE forums. Incredible amount of anger, hatred, and bitterness for jest fans. The Bills fans are mostly depressed and admittedly jealous. Poor bastards..
