Do the Pats risk JG's health and let him play most of game so Tom's good health doesn't have to be risked.
But that would risk JG's health and could be a disaster for those 4 games with 3rd stringer pitching.
How should Pats play this?

But if he gets injured, it will be Jacoby starting for those games...yeah we definitely be lucky if we come away with even one win in that 4 game stretch.

I would think that Jimmy would need all the practice he can get before the season starts. Injury bug be damned.

It certainly sounds that way.

Jacob Brissett

Jacob Brissett

For all the less than favorable opinions of JG's camp, Jacob is getting even more hammered...would practically count on 0-4 if he was forced to start. This could very well kill our play off hopes.

I think unlike in past year's where TFB got reps with the first team O Line and JAG got most time with the backups, I wonder if the first team O Line will play more in this preseason ( in front of both of them) than in past years, if only to protect Garappolo from injury. So the starters are there in front of Brady and Garappolo while Brisett gets the backups in the 3rd/4th quarter....

I have no idea... but I do know that this is me for most preseason games in the past...

Good job on losing all that weight...and getting your hairline back :D.

No offense, but if you don't care about preseason games you're basically human garbage.

It's a serious dilemma that's been raised elsewhere as well: do you risk Brady behind backups in preseason games and give Garoppolo as many reps as possible with the starters?

To my mind, there's little doubt that the more time JG gets with the starters under game conditions, the better it is for the team.

Since Brady's always been a "Team First" guy, it would be logical that he would take the view that it would be best for the team if Garoppolo got as much game time as possible with the line that will take the field in Arizona while Brady plays behind the backups.

But that unnecessarily exposes Brady to injury risk in a meaningless game, just as playing the starting line longer than usual exposes them to needless risk.

The only solution I can see is that Brady sees very limited playing time in the preseason, Garoppolo plays with the starters and Brissett gets the time behind the backups.

What a mess. Thanks, Roger, you ****ing idiot.

Similarly, let's say Brady and Washington look amazing in camp/preseason. But JimmyG can't get in sync with him. On the other hand, let's say Jimmy and Lucien are lights out but Brady doesn't trust Lucien.

If the last spot comes down those two, who do you pick? The guy who gives you the best chance to win the first 4 games and hope that Washington doesn't catch on anywhere else, or the guy who gives you the best chance in the final 15 games at the possible expense of wins in the first 4 games?

I would give Jimmy what he needs to win those four games. With that logic, where is Brian Tyms?

You've lost a lot of weight. Congrats!

Yeah it would really be mind-boggling ... if we actually had “first team OL“

Keep both. Cut Lucien when Brady is back.

I assume this is from what Zolak said? Meh. I heard the same thing last training camp and then I saw him in the games and I just didn't see what people were talking about. Seems like people are holding him to a Brady type standard, which is asinine.
