Before his injury last year he started 74 out of 78 games since he was drafted and 3 of the games he didn't start were his rookie year.

I don't think a freak injury like a bicep tear should put Solder on the "can he play a full season" because he played 4 full seasons and had missed only 1 game to a concussion before his biceps tear.

Yeah lots of guys more concerning....Jackson, Lewis, Edelman, Mitchell, Amendola. Would not be surprised if he goes heavy at OL, WR due to injury risk.

Was in the house...

- Intresting to see Gaffney heavily involved. Kid wants a spot on this team...of all RBs he was hitting the holes hard and running/cutting with purpose.

-A.J Derby, based on what I've read and now have been..kid can play. Hell of an athlete for a big dude. He laid out twice to catch balls from Brady meanwhile...

-Bolden dropped some absolutely beautifully thrown balls late in the scrimmage from Brady , one that he would have easily brought to the house. One has to wonder if Gaffney can get a spot in ST would this make Bolden expendable.

- Chris Hogan looks the part, smooth route runner but I saw Butler get in his head early and it seemed to really throw him off for the remainder of practice (no contact Jersey on Hogan btw).

-Collins was swarming all over the place. Special talent.

- Mitchell is getting up there and fighting for balls ...today wasn't his day but that's mostly due to Cyrus Jones absolutely putting the clamps on him.

-Blount looks leaner and caught some nice balls.

- Saw Stork hanging around, looked to be in good spirits. Ted Karas looks like the big guy at the bar you don't mess with ...

- Saw Bennett limp off field , looked like it was an ankle/foot issues possibly got stepped on or rolled on it. He came back and killed it. Beautiful TD which I called pre snap (mismatch pre snap)

- Brady to Carter was interesting.........wondering if this would happen if Dola was healthy or edelman.

- all in all... I'm giving Derby and Gaffney legitimate chances to sticking.

Oh and Thuney is the real deal too :)

Right now, it looks like

LT: Solder
LG: Thuney
C: Andrews/Stork
RG: Karras/Mason
RT: Vollmer
OT3: Waddle/Cannon

That's 9 right there, and probably 8 locked spots, based upon play combined with expectations (unless Stork is more affected than we might expect), before we even get to

Cooper
Kline
Barker
Fleming
Jackson
etc...

Would love to keep Gaffney over Bolden - we have added some ST guys like KGH. Really want Blount /Gaffney /White /Brown at RB (Foster to PS) and Harbor /Derby at backup TE. Not sure we can swing it though.

Wasn't Cooper that starting RG before he got hurt? Cooper is a lock no matter what happens. They're not going to cut an athlete like him even if he doesn't play another snap in TC.

Wanted to see Bryce Williams and Clay Harbor bad because the 3rd TE could be a key role... all I can comment is on what I saw... AJ Derby looks the part...albeit vs 2nd/3rd stringers but the athleticism is there

Also note worthy :

Victor Valentine can push the pocket, still raw but if he can be polished up could be something.

Jimmy struggled a bit more than I would have hoped but nothing to panic about ...

When it counted most Tommy took an anemic offense on his back and marched down field and scored s 2 pt conversion to boot (AJ Derby!). He was locked into Carter (slot receiver).

Overall defense won today.

Hightower is so key to the run defense .. I know it's common knowledge but seeing it in action is something else.

McCourty totally owned Gronk on a particular play right in front of me. Bravo Devin. Pass Break up while tangling it up with the mammoth .

James Develin looks to be back in form.

And Cyrus Jones looks like hes going to take every kick back to the house .

Happy to hear good reports about my binky Derby.

Pleasantly surprised at all of the positives that I am hearing about Valentine so far. Wasn't expecting it, but maybe this kid will be a player.

Can AJ Derby block?

Can't believe Stork is back. I really don't know how to feel about it. I am worrying about the guy. His call but still.

Yeah, we've got to remember that he and his doctors know best. It is very tough to give up years and years of hard work (not to mention a second and much larger NFL contract after next season) and determination for anything, particularly at a young age.

We have no idea how severe any of his concussions, or even symptoms, have been. Either way, here's hoping that he makes the right choice and doesn't end up regretting his decision down the road. I certainly share your concerns.
