DeMaurice Smith on Brady/NFL Settlement Talks

Curran just said the dorito dinks were trying to get to TB and tell them they'd take the hit for him.

Jesus. Not aimed at you as I've used the term myself but I think we need to stop labeling these guys Dorito Dinks. These guys have really taken the high road on this whole thing.

I hope that when the appropriate time comes they file and win a defamation suit against the NFL.

If they write a book I'll buy it. Hell if they create a christmas card I'll buy it.

That would be tough. Tom missis 4 games but Goodell gets tossed out on his ass. Hmmm
Yea. I don't want a Richard Nixon resignation/presidential pardon. Living on easy street and making $20m a year as some executive or on the lecture circuit.

I want Goodell to have something between living in a Siberian goulag or pulling soda bottles out of trash cans and getting high off Nyquil.

The man ruins lives and has no compassion for people.

Screw him.

Sounds like these guys more than ever have a case for a defamation suit of their own. Tom won't do it but I bet they do.

Interestingly, Curran just this moment said on Comcast that McNally and Jastremski told Brady to go ahead and agree to the deal. They were ok with being scapegoated if that's what it took to settle. Brady offered 1 game for being uncooperative with no admission of guilt.
...and the NFL still wanted him to admit it.

Arrogant bastards.

Seems Curran was told today that the one game offer for being uncooperative would have been agreed to if Brady was willing to lay the blame on McNally and Jastremski. The pricks just wanted someone to pin guilt on. Evidently, Brady told them to go suck canal water...

Tom is a 1st ballot HoFer of Good People regardless whatever he does on the field.

Sad that Brady and Tebow are the bad guys while everyone is so happy for Peyton.

Seriously.

I'm not a big religion guy and I kinda take exception to people pushing their faith on me but that's where people don't understand Tebow.

He's just a really religious guy, committed to his faith and believes God deserves the credit for his success.

Can someone tell me why that is an issue for people? I mean....big deal?

Weird that people hate the good guys and somehow find smugness in it.

People like Tim and Tom arent packaged or processed because they don't need it and people don't comprehend the depth of their character.

This is probably more insidious than you might think. Goodell dangled this 'offer' only as a way to get the 2 ball boys, after being outed by Brady, to in turn roll on Brady.
Agree. That's how Goody screwed spineless Bob.

I say it with affection, and I also couldn't remember their names.

I wonder if this is also part of the media campaign by Brady's team to make the NFL* look bad.

If so it is working, and I heartily approve.

**** the NFL*

I really hope the speculation that Brady would accept 1 game for non-cooperation it not true. Settling for anything less than a promise not to file a defamation suit if the league came out and dropped the whole thing would be asinine. Call me stubborn but I would rather Brady serve the 4 game suspension while going down with a fight/maintaining his innocence than except some measly "non-cooperation" punishment that results in a 1 game suspension. The latter would probably serve as an admission of guilt even to the people who are on the fence about the whole thing.

I know. Wasn't implying that you or anyone has.

They might even like the term for all I know.

I'll use JJ and Byrd or the Ball brothers. hahaha That might be worse.

Oh but Stephen A Smith thinks Tom is being selfish....

I bet his buddy Troy Vincent told him to say that.

It is becoming ever more difficult not to drive up to prouts Neck me....

Came home about 20 minutes ago and my roommate had ESPN on and they were talking about the concussion scandal. Stephen Asshat of all people went on a rant about how the NFL can't be trusted and if they were to lie about something this serious why wouldn't they lie in something like Deflategate. I was really surprised to hear it but the tide has definitely started to turn over the past couple months
