If he was running around on his foot recently and just now has it elevated like this, my guess is he had a minor surgery of some type for maintenance purposes that won't hinder him long. This is just a total guess, but I would imagine if it was bad from last season, it would've been operated on a while ago and he wouldn't have been out and about all this time since.

Unfortunately, Ross, that isn't necessarily true.

We talked in other threads about this subject 4-6 weeks ago when Edelman was interviewed (I can't remember by who, and neither can @MackHerron--but we both saw it and linked it at the time) and stated that they were still in a waiting/watching phase, and that he "honestly and truthfully" had no idea if an additional surgery would occur. He said that he really had no clue as to whether or not he would take part in offseason activities, and that it would all be dependent on the recovery.

It seemed like his comments strongly suggested that they were hoping that surgery could be avoided, but that it was very much a possibility based on how things would heal. As mentioned by other posters, we can try and take comfort in the fact that we're still about 4 months out if he did have another procedure. I suppose we'll find out soon enough.

Training camp isn't for 3 months. Season doesn't start for 4 months. Even if this is true no reason to jump off the bridge just yet

In about three months I have to decide whether or not to spend a 5th rounder on him as a keeper. The selfishness of these players nowadays is just crazy. Imma have $200 and bragging rights on the line in 2016!

First the Brady suspension which obviously affects Edelman and now this.

Spending a 4th on Brandon Marshall but need a 2nd. If not Edelman, only other possibility is spending a 10th on Arian Foster. If Edelman isn't 100%, the Pats should pick him up. The quick passing game should amount to big PPR points for Foster.

Ugh, the challenges of dealing with these players only get tougher for us Fantasy team owners.

When asked if he’ll avoid a second surgery, Edelman did not provide an answer.“I don't even know yet. We're just taking it day to day,” Edelman said. “I'm sure we'll go over that in the near future.”
Edelman he does not know if he will be ready for organized team activities in the spring.
