Why have neither the team or Brady put out a statement yet?

The ruling came out 3 days ago now and as far as I know there hasn't been a single word about it from either the Patriots or Brady. When the Wells Report was first released there were statements released from both that same day. There were also statements after the league appeal and then after Judge Berman's ruling. So why the silence this week?

Don't want think they gave up on all of this but maybe they are just waiting on legal counsel to say the right things.

It is unnerving regardless

Maybe Kraft requested they refrain from comment until after the draft. Or maybe BB is fully focused on the picks he does have and doesn't want to be distracted.

Dunno

They have already said all they need to say ... anything else is rehash.
Action at this point is key

I would wager to guess the Patriots don't want to make a statement until Brady first makes his decision. He's got another 11 days to decide, so I'm sure we'll hear something soon.

Monday would be my guess, a full week since the incompetent decision was handed down.

Either way, at this stage in the game, talk is very, very cheap.

Oh FFS I'm not asking for a dissertation describing how they feel about everything. But in these cases you always at minimum gets something along the lines of "we are very disappointed in the result from the 2nd circuit court of appeals, Mr Brady maintains his innocence of all allegations and is looking into options going forward blah blah blah." But there's been nothing. And that's weird.

And Schefter and Zo saying that their sources say that Brady wasn't to keep fighting isn't the same.

My hope is it means it's always darkest before the dawn, or in this case, the the calm comes before storm, and they're going to lay down a 250 million dollar defamation suit in conjuction with the appeal.

I still say the ace in the hole is the Brady suit, which should be encouraged by Kraft at this point.

There is no way the owners or Goodell himself will want all of the people involved in Framegate on a federal stand answering questions and trying to clarify why there could be 56 lies in an "independent" report that Goodell used to punish Brady and the Pats.

We all know what happened and this being Harbaugh's idea hatched with Pagano/Grigson, but most of the country has no idea how this framejob unfolded. Just think, if Brady doesn't toss the INT to Jackson before the half, it's highly likely this thing couldn't have been engineered the way it was.

I believe the story CNNSI ran about most owners wanting to settle, because I think they fear a Brady suit at this point.

I don't buy the other story about the NFL not looking to settle. I think that's posturing by the NFL.

Ongoing legal issue. Less said, the better. We'd all like a statement/comment and I'm sure there's plenty they'd like to say, but it's prudent to refrain. Just my opinion.

I'm wondering if Goodys little victory lap he's doing right now will bite him in the end. If there is even a .01 chance of it getting overturned I'd be saying nothing. Things to the effect of "We are pleased but until it's officially over one can never say anything that may be used against you. I'll have more to say once it's over".

Instead the moron is going on every show he can find, lying and gloating. Today was the best when he said the suspension wasn't because of the violation. Then what was it for Mr. Goodell?

TB and the NFLPA may know this and are letting Goody hang himself. You NEVER say anything that can still be used against you. And I assume comments such as todays are not good for the NFL.

Destruction of the phone and being dishonest (Goody thinks Brady's been lying this whole time).

This is exactly my feeling. Especially the caliber of shows that he's going on. CBS This Morning is a perfect example. It's the typical morning chat/"news" show catering to those who don't necessarily watch sports or are watching with it in the background of their place of work. He probably thinks that this will continue to get people thinking his way, but I think the opposite. The more he does this cabbage patch dancing tour of TV shows, the more people will get sick of his act and want to know more. At least that's my totally optimistic, not-at-all realistic look.

Obviously he did it . Guilty people don't deny things. Look at Peyton clearly not guilty.

So, you must be a resident troll. What team do you root for?

Brady never "destroyed" a phone. That word was specifically chosen by Goodell and the NFL to dupe the public.

This is old news. Brady OFFERED his phone at the outset of the "investigation".

I can understand Brady's silence given the legal matters. Kraft had no problem being a first and foremost vocal supporter of Goodell in the Rice fiasco. You would think he could at least do the same for his most important player if he actually cared about his team instead of his seat in the owners club. Be a Mensch instead of a putz and stand up for Brady. You owe it to him and your team's fans

Goody is a complete idiot.

While the odds are certainty agsinst TB12 winning this thing, does he really believe he is going to stop fighting? Why risk the exposure ?

I kinda liken Goody's rhetoric to what Trump is doing as it relates to telling Cruz and Kasich to throw in the towel.

The issue is that TB12 has more fight and more realistic options than those clowns.
