Olivier Vernon got 5/85 from the Giants, anyone still think we're going to be able to keep Chandler Jones for <10M per year?

For anyone who hasn't already, it's time to accept that Jones will not be signing another contract here.

Naw, if he 'gets it' he'll be inking a 6yr/$30m deal tomorrow

really though: Seemed most had come around that Jones was probably a goner one way or another. At this point wonder if High or Butler is eventually too. I wouldn't pay Butler what these guys are getting til I see it for another year.

I'm sure BB is thinking exactly what you are, and I'm not being sarcastic.

Hence Cousin....Trade now and avoid being a mid round 4th comp picks for him after all those this year get paid in 2017.

Anyone have the Cardinals phone number to give to Bill? They missed out on a few pass rushers today.

P.S. The ones who are desperate besides the Broncos are the Browns. Decimated by loss of 4 starters today. They know Josh Gordon is a crap shoot at best. Jones would be a "For the fan base" selection. I still say take a run at Joe Haden and Josh Gordon for Jones. The Browns can now gauge what he is worth. See the Vernon contract.
The Pats will not spend $17mm for Jones.
Here is the other problem. If you are Jones and know you are worth $17mm right now, do you take a chance on injury to go all out in 2016? Interesting question. His ceiling value is set.

Subtle jab noted. 6/30 sounds a bit low. 5/85 is moronic. I bet BB signs him at 8ish per. He wants to blow it out, good for him. He won't get it here and he can go rot somewhere else. He's already got a ring so what does he care I suppose.

I have the Cardinals phone number but I don't have Bill's....

Victor Cruz has agreed to slash his 2016 $7.9 million base salary to $1.3 million.

Dan graziano

I thought he was going to refuse pay cut

It makes sense for him IMO. He probably wouldn't get more than like $2.5-3 million on the open market and would have to move to a new city and learn a new system.

just noticed that mike giardi tweeted this afternoon that Anquan Boldin and james jones have been in contact with the patriots. Not sure if someone mentioned it here on this thread.

If he makes a lot of "business decisions," they'll cost him millions. . . .

Why would the Browns ever entertain trading Gordon AND Haden for Jones? You trade for Jones because you have Haden.

No way I'm trading Chandler. Not for a second rounder. I know I'm getting a 3rd rounder in compensation for him. So no way. I'd rather use him for a year while we still have Brady and then take a 3rd. 2nd rounder does me absolutely no good.
