Reasons to hate the Chiefs...here is one

Isn't ironic that the OP's reaction to "hateful" cartoons is to "hate" the Chiefs?
It's not ironic at all. Hate breeds more hate, until someone is strong enough to end the cycle.

"Tribespeople" then? Or just the "Tribe"? You have the Miami Heat, for instance, you can have the Washington Tribe.
Or Indigenous Folks. Natives. Aborigines.

I don't like team nicknames that can't be applied to the players individually. "He's a Patriot," you can't say "He's a Heat," etc.

I personally have no problem with the current Native American-derived nicknames for teams. I guess I can see why some people might not like Redskins or Indians, but names like Chiefs and Braves seem pretty benign.

Another point to indicate I wasn't serious.

But the Chiefs changed logos 53 years ago......cycle ended......but PCers still perpetuating hate.....not the Chiefs.

Just curious....what's up for the afternoon? Heading out to Worcester to protest the Holy Cross Crusaders? Down to Foxborough to seize some muskets? Out to Nashville to picket the Predators?
It's Christmas every day for the PC crowd. Oops....not allowed to say "Christmas"......might offend ISIS

The difference being that those names/mascots are representative of the culture surrounding the teams in question. Except the Predators, that one is out of left field.

If some group asks you to stop using some type of revered imagery/history from their culture to elevate your local sports team and you decline to respect their wishes, you aren't being anti-PC, you're just being an a-hole.

I don't believe you :(:(:( what will you tell the children?

The Tribesmen would be a cool name. But then some feminist would label it sexist and exclusionary.
A bunch of Jewish co-workers I once worked with referred to themselves as "members of the tribe." Should I let them know they can now claim "victim" status? :)

If this is how you boil up your gripes and resentment, then by all means: go ahead.

People just commented that it's hard to believe that passed for OK back then. Key words: back then.

"Perpetuating hate"?

This will be my last post in this thread.

Mods, I hope you can just remove this thread and put it in the political forums. Just to clarify one final time, the original post was a complete joke. It was intended to be a comical stretch of reasoning to criticize a franchise for a logo from 50 years ago and an exaggerated rah-rah reaction, since other fanbases just love to put up Patriots hate threads and there were several headlines at the top of the forum from beat writers about how the Chiefs are low on the hate level. However, I understand sometimes sarcasm does not translate well on the internet, and sometimes it's about what type of mood someone is in while reading it. I suspect most people didn't even really read the comments about it and just went with the strong visuals.

Anyway, this thread should just die and not turn into a huge debate about political correctness. Wherever you stand on the PC side, the fact that this was from FIFTY years ago makes it silly to pose it as a Belichick black eye on a franchise and fan base. For the record, I am in the middle on the PC stuff - I think our society is overly sensitive but then again, a name like Redskins with that logo is going pretty far and probably crosses an imaginary line that will always be up for debate.

I hope everyone can just get along and not get bent out of shape because this is such a great message board with so many interesting, highly intelligent members. The humor on this board is so unlike 99% of other NFL team message boards, with people really having a great taste of my favorite humor, which is satire, snark, and sarcasm.

I apologize for setting off such a ****storm, and I probably should have known better on this one.

That's great...but who are the "Chefs"?

Every time I see this photo, I think it is a stock picture for an American Greed episode. Watch out because you don't want to get hoodwinked in a real estate scam.

So a chiefs fan was wishing injury on Tom Brady(I know shocking!). Another Chiefs fan replies to his post with this:

No because last time we knocked Brady out of the game for some time Bill Belichick got his revenge and sent us Mat Cassell. So think about what your sayin.

I wish no harm to Tom Brady.

That gave me a chuckle!:D

I dislike PC groups SJWs, and safe space warriors like 3rd wave feminists like any sane and rational person, but do not EVER attempt to downplay the enslavement and dehumanization of African people with the hardships of any other race (ethnic background).

Black people are still trying to recover from the economic disparity caused by slavery, and still face sociological barriers because of it.

Irish people have nowhere near the amount of negative stereotypes associated with them.

The only people that can ever compare are the Native Americans, and the Jewish people (somewhat). It's truly sad there are people still touting that "Whites were slaves" "Africans sold their own" nonsense. Just sad
