NFL Week 16 Predictions and Picks Against the Spread

As has been the case nearly all season, this week there is a paucity of games between teams that both have winning records. There are only three games that fit in that category this week (and just two for the entire day Sunday): the Patriots at Jets in an early game, Green Bay at Arizona late, and then Cincinnati at Denver on Monday night. No wonder the NFL pushes fantasy football and jumps in bed with weekly fantasy/gambling sites to maintain fan interest; 21 franchises have not at this point produced a winning record for their consumers, the fan bases for their respective teams.

Ravens take an early 7-0 lead over Pittsburgh.
That's the first time Baltimore has had a lead in any game at any time since November.

Anquan Boldin becomes the 13th player in NFL history to catch 1,000 passes.
SF with a 7-3 lead over Detroit.

Headset issues in Miami.
Dolphins get a safety against them for the fourth time this year, on Tannehill's 39th sack.
Frank Gore with a 37-yard touchdown run; Colts lead 8-0.

Texans 10, Titans 0

Chiefs 10, Browns 0

Bucs 7, Bears 0

Panthers 7, Falcons 7
Carolina with 8-minute drive, then Atlanta with 9-minute drive.
Panthers had drive stopped but got a dumb 15-yard penalty.

Steelers lost (danger of missing the playoffs)
Dolphins lost (more likely to phone it in next week)
Panthers lost (no 16-0)
Houston won (Colts not eliminated, but close)

All in all, a pretty good start to the football weekend, outside of the Patriots loss.

So the world beaters from each conference : Steelers / Seahawks having rough day... Seattle still plenty of time, but the games are so difficult to predict - makes for iffy predictions.

If Cincy wins the next 2 games and Pats lose next week then Cincy gets #1 seed. So essentially hope for a meteor to crash in Denver tomorrow and Pats to win next week.
