Man, did not expect to cause a firestorm and I may have been too extreme. My main point was that Brady is a really special player and one that I think even we take for granted. BB is without question one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game. I agree with your assessment that it could be 60% bill and 40% tom or 60% tom and 40% bill. Maybe even 70-30! :)

It's 75% Brady, at the bare minimum, and 25% Bill & Skippy.

PS players are on the team and are contributors to helping them win. Hes been pretty consistent with that philosophy for 15 years here.

Butler was never a P-squad guy was he?

:D

Part of me thinks TV needs Donald Trump more than ever. By positioning his bigotry as a by-product of ignorance, he could take on every single ultra sensitive topic and expose its silliness -and seriousness while spouting god, country and the American way.

Can you imagine an episode with Muslims moving in next door? LOL

Fixed your post for you ;)

As far as uniform numbers go, active roster players get priority over PS players.

If Ball was on the 53 it's a different situation.

There is nothing else to this.

Seems like you disagreed, then agreed with me.

Looking forward to seeing the power run game we have all been waiting for since Belickick took over.

No disrespect to Corey Dillon but Jackson is a bigger back and the Pats have more beef up front when they want to get serious.

If Jackson'slegs are still in shape we're going to see it happen gentlemen.

Except I keep seeing our RB being hit in the backfield by some big DE type well behind the line of scrimmage. Maybe a true decisive N/S back might alleviate that some although it didn't seem to be that way with Blount.

But one big change is that SJ is a serious threat to catch on first and second downs. That should help with play action and draw plays. Blount was never a serious pass threat, Bolden was never that serious a between-the-tackles run threat and White was never a serious run threat at all.

Anyone concerned with the lack of a running game all season? Have they ever won a superbowl ranking 28 or higher when it comes to team rushing stats?

The run game in 2003 was atrocious.

Maybe Trump can help save the liberal party from the thought police guys that are trying to hijack it. In the old days being a liberal was all about humanist values. Now its all about shutting down debate by marginalizing the opposition with political correct labels like bigot, fascist, racist, xenophobe etc. What's most fascinating about it is how the extreme right - Islamists are using the tools of the left to get their way..

Don't like the values preached in Islam - bigot.
Don't want fundamentalist Muslims who believe in those values to immigrate here - xenophobe.
Don't think that more people becoming Muslim is a great thing - Islamophobia.

Kinda slick for guys who believe in a flat our ridiculous story about 'god' told by a brutal but not particularly successful warlord..

Yeah, as @glm stated, the running attack in 2003 was extremely poor. The duties were split between Faulk and Smith, who each rushed for approx. 600-700 yards and had similar, low YPC averages (3.6 and 3.5).

The team was able to get by due to their insanely stifling defense. They were the clear #1 defense in the NFL, and gave up a measly 14.9 points per game. As I noted in another thread, they only gave up 11 touchdowns through the air (with another 10 on the ground), while using their 29 interceptions to their advantage.

Jeez, Big Pete....let's not insult anyone, especially on the day(s) that many are celebrating the birth of Christ. No matter what your beliefs are regarding religion or political matters, it's best to keep it light and have a sense of humor.

Go Pats! :)

BTW...can SOMEBODY tell me, the IDIOT, just WTF "nog" is? I can't figure it out...is it what you call the egg after you've had a few?

Ok...I was curious too.

- Eggnog may have originated in East Anglia, England; or it may have simply developed from posset, a medieval European beverage made with hot milk; eggs were added to some posset recipes. The "nog" part of its name may stem from the word noggin, a Middle English term for a small, carved wooden mug used to serve alcohol.

Yes. Antowain Smith says 'hi' (although Kevin Faulk was given a lot more carries then because Smith was not particularly productive). A career year in 2001 and a big part of the Cinderella story, but another reason everyone was so happy to see Dillon in 2004.

The Pats already have 4 more rushing TDs and are almost 0.5 YPC better than that rushing game.

I agree that the 03 run game was below average but I do think that the coaching staff had Smith on a pitch count as he was 31 plus he was dinged up a little that year.

When December rolled around they started feeding him and he did pretty well averaging close to 4 yards a carry and over ~540 yds rushing.

They ran him hard in week 13 against Miami (27 carries), and he really did nothing. He was dinged up during the season, but my recollection with him was his motivation was often subject to question.

Didn't fumble much and wasn't a home run hitter. He did tend to have his best games in the playoff, which is a big plus. But as an in-season guy, okay but not awe inspiring (certainly no Marion Butts either - in recent memory, the low water mark of the power running game for the Pats with a back dedicated to that cause (last year was a true committee)).
