Talk about a team and a person who deserve each other!
Archie Manning probably thought he only was helping his son, but he actually has made Peyton Manning's selfishness sound worse.

The quarterback's father's comments on WDSU-TV in New Orleans, via Larry Brown Sports, revealed that the Broncos signal caller has been dealing with his injured foot since before the season began.

"He went back this year and he struggled again with injury," Archie Manning told WDSU-TV in New Orleans on Thursday, via Denver's KMGH-TV. "He really had this foot problem. It's been going on for five or six months."

That could explain Manning's awful play in 2015. Had the 39-year-old quarterback been up front with the Broncos, they could've started Brock Osweiler at the beginning of the season and allowed Manning to heal his foot and be back in time for the team's playoff run.
Denver Broncos Update: Peyton Manning Hiding Foot Injury May Cost Team Super Bowl Ring

Manning's foot has been an issue since the beginning of the season? I don't believe he was listed on any of the injury report until his last or next to last start this year. The league needs to launch a $10 million, independent-in-name-only investigation to confirm their belief that the Broncos weren't 100% honest with their weekly injury reports.

It's all BS, I'm calling BS here. Archie tried to come out and say "oh, oh, actually Peyton has been hurt all year, not just recently, so yeah that's why he's been total dog sh** all season is because his foot hurts, it's been hurting since like forever!"

What it creates is a catch 22 for him - either he's a selfish prick who hid injury and it screwed his team big time, or he's a lying sack of crap who is trying to cover up the fact that he sucks now.

But seriously, how could he have been hurt for six months? You're telling me he's had a foot problem since June? And neither Kubiak nor Elway ever noticed? I don't buy it.

Yep. Archie really screwed Goober over on this.

So it makes him a liar either way - he either lied that he wasn't hurt and screwed the team, or he's lying that he was hurt, which just makes him an a**hole.

Well Peyton, you'll never be the GOAT, but you're definitely in the running for the GLOAT (greatest loser of all time). His strongest competitors are probably his boss Elway (multiple Super Bowl loser before resorting to cheating the salary cap to win), Jim Kelly (multiple SB loser), and obviously Dan Marino.

Or maybe Kubiak is just smart and played the Manning-sucks-in-the-playoffs-anyway-so-I'm-gonna-let-this-play-out-and-let-Brock-learn-my-offense-without-putting-pressure-on-him-and-make-me-look-bad-if-we-lose card.

With the Broncos' defense and a reasonably healthy Manning -- or maybe even a more seasoned Osweiler -- Denver might've been a clear-cut favorite to win the Super Bowl.

Riiiiiight......

Always the case with peyton. They all want to make excuses all the time. He apparently cannot throw an incomplete pass without it being someone else's fault. Even manning does say as much after a game as much as the media and his family which controls the media says.

Wonder how the Broncos fan forum is taking this news.

I've noticed with my own parents and in-laws, there's a certain point where just enough basic sense leaves you where (they, some day to be me) make some decisions they wouldn't have a couple years earlier.

I think Archie may have reached that point.

No one will notice the hidden injury, as this is not an "integrity issue", business as usual for most... not sure of the current definition but last I heard:

Integrity
/inˈteɡrədē/ noun
1. a term used in the NFL to define any questionable action sensationalized by ESPN about the New England Patriots while ignoring similar more egregious actions by lesser teams..

...and parents of kids who play club soccer. They make 1000 excuses for their kids when they have about as much athletic talent as Bill OReilly.

You must be one of those parents?

Let's get real folks, Brady would have done the same thing.
We know all players want to play. I suspect that Brady and Manning (at this point for Manning) might have some slightly different motivations (slightly, but different enough).

On the morning of the SB for the 2007 season, Archie took the time to go on CBS radio and bemoan the fact that Fran Tarkenton was in the NFL HOF. What kind of a person does that?
