Jerry Thornton is reporting Blount is also done...IR

If true, we'll hear about it from the other beat reporters shortly..

I still say, and have argued this for years and years, that they should allow the use of HGH by NFL teams to help guys recover from injury.

The way you would do it is that you have a strict daily schedule for them that includes their workout sessions, so you just let them workout the way they normally would and don't allow for any extra to take advantage of the faster muscle building.

If there was oversight by team physicians and a meticulous log of daily activities during their recovery, they could help players recover from injury faster without them gaining any sort of competitive advantage from enhanced muscle growth.

Part of me still believes that Rodney Harrison and BB, or maybe just Rodney, said "F*** it!" and figured that the 4 game suspension for being caught was less than the recovery time it would have taken not using it

Or, you know, he might just be unlucky, the way JE was. The way Gronk was. The way Amendola was.
Yeah, exactly. There's this annoying tendency lately where if a guy gets hurt, it's ok, dangerous game. But if you happen to get hurt again? Then there must be something wrong with you.

If this happened in October he'd be out for awhile and come back, just like countless other guys on the team this year. The timing sucks, that's all. He'll be a force next next year.

This is not a good day.

Waiting for the secondary confirmation.. No one else has mentioned it and credited Thornton with the first report..

Sooner or later these injuries will bite u in the fanny:( we need guys to step up and some have not.

Well, the guy's on crutches the week before Christmas, so....
I was on crutches for a week after breaking the middle metatarsal in my right foot in college. I still ended up playing hockey within 2 weeks despite the pain..

And at least 4 of Chandler Jones' sacks are because of pressure Easley generated.

And I wonder how many come from Hightower/Collin's pressures too. Watching him the last w-3 weeks, I think Jones' sack numbers this year have been a little flattering to him. He can be great at times, but he's still not consistent enough for my liking at getting pressure.

Hopefully we won't need a pass rush against Brock Osweiler or AJ McCarron in the playoffs

No long term effects? What does that even mean at this point in the year? "Yea, his leg didn't have to be amputated, so he should come back with both legs next season."
It could simply mean "It's an injury with a month recovery time and we need the roster spot for the playoffs"

Need a healthy DMac and edelman. I am holding out hope that lafell will wake up

Highly doubt Thornton floats this report about Blount out there if it wasn't true. It's not like he's a corporate shill like Mortensen.

Looks like White and Bolden will get their shot. Sucks how depleted this RB group has gotten.

Don't forget that giving extensions to Jones and Hightower almost certainly saves money next season. And then any extension to Hicks in year two and beyond is probably paid for by losing Branch in 2017. I think it's do-able.
As an aside, two other names I'd consider adding to your list are Ryan and Harmon. The way Ryan is playing at the moment, he's increasing his future contract value on a week by week basis.

Add Butler to that list... if he keeps playing the way he has, he'll command a lot of money in 2017 free agency.. definitely more than they were paying Browner which was around $5 mill/year

He was already on the list, but I agree.

Already had Butler on the list.. The 5 players I mentioned were Collins, Hightower, Jones, Butler and Sheard..

Not good. I guess it's not ending anytime soon. Not sure how they will fare but win 2 out of 3 and they have the first seed. Nobody can get hurt in during the bye week.
