NFL transaction wire confirms news Pats have placed Dominique Easley on IR.
Yeah, exactly. There's this annoying tendency lately where if a guy gets hurt, it's ok, dangerous game. But if you happen to get hurt again? Then there must be something wrong with you.Or, you know, he might just be unlucky, the way JE was. The way Gronk was. The way Amendola was.
This is not a good day.
Well, the guy's on crutches the week before Christmas, so....Andy Hart @JumboHart

EDIT: Please note that this is NOT a confirmation. Just a re-statement by Andy Hart..
HOPEWaiting for the secondary confirmation.. No one else has mentioned it and credited Thornton with the first report..
I was on crutches for a week after breaking the middle metatarsal in my right foot in college. I still ended up playing hockey within 2 weeks despite the pain..Well, the guy's on crutches the week before Christmas, so....
And at least 4 of Chandler Jones' sacks are because of pressure Easley generated.
It could simply mean "It's an injury with a month recovery time and we need the roster spot for the playoffs"No long term effects? What does that even mean at this point in the year? "Yea, his leg didn't have to be amputated, so he should come back with both legs next season."
Hopefully we won't need a pass rush against Brock Osweiler or AJ McCarron in the playoffs
Don't forget that giving extensions to Jones and Hightower almost certainly saves money next season. And then any extension to Hicks in year two and beyond is probably paid for by losing Branch in 2017. I think it's do-able.
As an aside, two other names I'd consider adding to your list are Ryan and Harmon. The way Ryan is playing at the moment, he's increasing his future contract value on a week by week basis.
Add Butler to that list... if he keeps playing the way he has, he'll command a lot of money in 2017 free agency.. definitely more than they were paying Browner which was around $5 mill/year
