Chris Harris: Broncos Defense has No Weaknesses

getting to the super bowl does not make the defense better. and of course they haven't sniffed a super bowl, they're only in week 9...

the 2011 patriots D got to a super bowl. are you saying they're better than this denver D too?

what ridiculous logic.
As per usual @Interception, you're dribbling **** and take a contrarian role. At this point in your posting history, it is impossible to see you as anything more than the troll that you are.

You made a comment about Denver's D being better than Seattle's. With minimal effort, I was able to disprove that position. You're now on my ignore list.

Seattle had a better secondary, that's it. Next time, put some words into your post to explain your view.
Well, it's a passing league. So saying a team has "a better secondary, and that's it" is a bit like saying "they only have a very good QB, but that's it". Seattle also had a very good defensive lineman in Bennett and a very good linebacker in Wagner. They did not only have a good secondary.

I like the Broncos defense. But I'll take the 2013 and 2014 Seattle defense over them any day of the week.

Seahawks D: 15.9 pts/game, 267.1 yds/game.
Denvers D: 16.0 pts/game, 261.1 yds/game.

I have no reason to believe you know anything about football to begin with.
want more?

185.6 passing yards per game for Seahawks.
171.9 passing yards per game for Denver.

Are these stats what Seattle had through 7 games or is that all 16? Because if it is all 16 then it is completely f***ing meaningless.

Denver's D being better than Seattle's.

Yeah, Seattle led the league in scoring allowed for 3 years straight (2012-2014). What they did was amazing. It was the first time that a defense has led the league like that for 3 years straight since Minnesota (1969-1971). Definitely quite an accomplishment.

Quite possible they could lead again. They only give up 1.5 points more a game than Denver.

I agree that Interception tends to stir the pot, but Denver's D is performing substantially better than Seattle's thus far in 2015. And they're playing better than Seattle did in 2014 as well. There are questions about opposition quality and whether they can keep it up for the entire season, but they've been outstanding for the first seven games.

If anyone wants to compare one season defensive stats, no one was better than the 2000 Ravens. They gave up 10.3 points per game. In comparison, the '85 Bears gave up 12.4 points a game.

There have been plenty of great defenses for a season or so, and who knows where DEN will stand up to those, but comparing them to the consistency of the Seahawks is way premature, in my opinion. They led the league for 3 years straight.

EDIT: as JMC00 points out, they may end up leading the league again for a 4th straight season.

The thing is supa, Denver's D has shown it is a very good unit. Seattle's D has proven it is a consistently excellent unit. This is the first season in 4 or so that it looks to have dropped back to the pack.

I wasn't talking about Seattle this season. I was talking about Seattle of recent seasons. It isn't difficult to be better than Seattle's D this season. That unit has regressed substantially.

They've been better than Seattle of last year as well, both season to date (not hard since Seattle was only marginally better than average at this point last year) and for the entire season. They are even arguably better than Seattle was in 2013, but it's much too early to state that conclusively.

I respect your right to hold that position but I simply do not agree with you.

Prior to the pats hanging 43 on the Broncos, the most their defense gave up was 26.

Given they have the same defense they had last year and don't give me that wade Philips ****.

What surprises me is how people were surprised by their performance Sunday night. It wasn't new, their D has been playing great all season. The stats are all clear on this. People want to talk about their feelings and impressions, but the numbers are the numbers. Denver D is freaking dominant right now. Real football network had a decent analysis I watched this *before* the GB game and it was crystal clear then, the game only confirmed it:

Someone between the homer licking brady's scrote, and the chicken little saying we have no chance, is a rational human being evaluating our chances objectively....

This Broncos D is much better than Seattles.
.

If your talking about 2015 through 9 weeks, then this statement is correct. Comparing it to Seattle of 2012-2014, this isn't correct merely based on the fact Denver has played 7 games.

Part of what's been great about seattles D is the fact it was consistently great. We could cherry pick stats and show even better defensive stats through 7 games.

I bet his scrote is a magical one. Probably like licking one of those poisonous frogs that make you puke but send you on a psychedelic trip of a lifetime.

I said 31st in yards, which is a fact. we've been over how this isn't the final word on our rushing performance, because of how much they've thrown, yadda yadda. but to say our rushing is better, given the stats from 2013, seems questionable, at best, esp given our offensive line problems right now. Yards/game was better in 2013, and yards/carry was better in 2013. We had 4.4 yards/attempt in 2013, and less than 4 this year.

Not sure upon what basis people would want to say our running game is *better* other than subjunctive conditionals. That is, speculation about how good we could or should be if certain conditoins were met. If coulds and shoulds won us SB rings, every homer here would have 'em.

Incidentally, ad hominem is not an argument, it's just lazy.

Yeah

Your real problem is your inability to adjust any statistical analysis to reality.

Wow

What are you smoking?
