Make room, Rob Gronkowski, Tyler Eifert is on the tight end scene, too

"Whether you believe Eifert deserves to be regarded in the same breath as a tight end of Gronkowski's caliber or not, you must know that all of this has been a long time coming for him."

Eifert is good. I get it. Until he drags 3 or 4 guys 10 yards into the end zone we can speak Gronks name. Once he can seal off a good defensive end on a run play, he can talk.

Jimmy Graham lite 2.0. Nothing more.

Eifert is pretty good but nobody is in Gronk zone yet.

Pretty amazing - we have the gold standard for Head Coach, QB, and TE... and you can throw special team's ace Slater in there too. Everyone wants to compare to them. :)

Edit: sorry didn't mean to leave out Ghost

Yet? Nobosy will be IMO. Gronk has rocketed by all the Hall of Fame TEs already. Who knows where his stats will end up.

They also have this Ghost guy who could end up being the GOAT kicker if he sticks around another 10 years. He will be certainly up there when all said and done.

He was the second best TE in that game last night. Barnidge has had a better year, and it's not even that close. Eifert is younger and has a brighter future than Barnidge, but let's pump the brakes a bit. He has a big TD number. His yards per catch is mediocre, 5 less than Gronk.

People tried putting Jimmy Graham on the same pedestal in 2011, and that comparison lasted a couple years. At this stage, people realize how silly that is. I'm thinking we'll see the same thing for Eifert.

Actually, I noticed the Bengals WR corps is just physical all around. They really push hard for extra yardage, fighting through tackles. I wonder if it's the coaching.

You slap one of those cyborg looking braces on your arm and it goes to your head.

I bet Eifert would do the moonwalk if he found himself w/ only one glove on.

If Jimmy Graham played for us, he would be as much matchup nightmare as Gronk.

Uh no, he'd do really well here but Graham gets shut down and Gronk never does.

Let's see how he does when d coordinators start to gameplan with him in mind now that he has supposedly arrived to Gronk's level.

Gronk's a freak of nature. Blessed with size, strenght, and speed. Hope he can continue to play well into his 30s like witten and gonzalez.

He has 11 career TDs, Gronk had 12 last year, and that wasn't even his best year. If Eifert keeps playing well for 10 years he might be Antonio Gates good.

He is the best te in the league. Hands down. He can also run block suh with only one arm. I hope he knows all of this and his head explodes then get the biggest contract in te history, and as in Graham's case, watch him never be mentioned in the same sentence as Gronk again.

Eifert has been great this year. He does deserve a tongue bath. He leads the NFL in TD reception (although he has played one more game than most of the other leaders in this category).

He's not Gronk, but he is clearly the best TE not named Gronkowski in the league this year.

ESPN was swallowing his pole non-stop on SportsCenter this morning. Eifert is good, but he's no Gronk. The only pass catching threat even comparable to Gronk as we speak today is Calvin Johnson.

Exactly. He is amazing. In addition, I hope they give him such a huge contract that it prohibits them from spending elsewhere.

No way. Graham can be neutralized for entire game. Gronk cannot. You can put Revis one on one with Graham and have a decent chance of shutting him down no matter what offense he is in.

No he wouldn't, because he wouldn't even see the field on running downs.

Nothing wrong with celebrating a good young player's success. I think it's pretty cool what Dalton and company are doing so far this year. If they're getting media attention for it, then good for them.

I'd take Kelce over Eifert
