We're On To the Jets!

Have a feeling that this is gonna be a street fight. Maybe even a loss. We usually lose to the jets the first time around or have a very close game then kill them the second time we play them. Not to mention Chris ivory is on fire this season. But I expect Bill and the pats to be ready
it will be a street fight, but i don't see the pats losing at home.

our o-line better get their **** together, or else it will a very long afternoon for TB.

I doubt we'll lose too, but you know, any given Sunday and all that

On offense: the Jets D-line definitely is frightening. Same with their CBs. However, their linebackers and safeties aren't anything special. Look for Gronk and Chandler to have a big day, whether it be in blocking on the line or pass catching. Hopefully Cannon is back, so Fleming can be a tackle-eligible and help Dion/Blount get the run game going.

On defense: Stop Chris Ivory. Hightower coming back would be massive. I am not a believer in Fitzpatrick in the slightest. His mobility might cause an issue, but Luck's only burned the defense once or twice and he has a far superior arm. Marshall and Decker are a decent tandem, but they are hindered by not having a real QB.

I think it'll be a close, relatively low scoring game. I give the Pats a 1-3 point win as of right now, but injuries might change that over the course of the week.

In theory yeah, but I want to see DEN play some tough teams before I panic about them.

The same can be said of the Jets, but you appear to be panicking about them.

Initial line has the Pats @ -9

Too generous in my opinion.

Huge game this weekend. The Pats can basically take a stranglehold on the AFC East. With a win the Pats will be 6-0 (2-0 in the division) and the Jets will be 4-2 and 3 games behind the Pats (with ten to play).

I don't think this game is going to be as close as some of you seem to think. I don't think it's going to be a 47-14 type blowout either, though. But, that said, this team left a lot of plays on the table last night that you know Belichick is going to get on them for. Usually, when the team has a down game (for them), they come out on fire the next week. And you know there is no love lost for the Jets either. I expect the Pats to win in a relatively comfortable fashion.
Totally agree. And that's not to disparage the Jets--good team. But the QB gap is massive in this game, the Pats are home, and I honestly think they're relieved to be done with the Colts game. I HATE games that everyone says you have to win by 60. So joyless. This one will be fun.

At this point the Jets have the best defense in the NFL. If the Pats can put up 30 that would be a good accomplishment.

The Jets can also run the ball between the tackles. Not sure of Powell will play.

Fitzpatrick is a very average QB. However their outside receivers in Marshall and Decker are so freaking tall.

They need to take one of those guys away and hope the front 5 can stop the run.

31-20 sounds right..

The first third of the season has really made it clear that Rex Ryan should not be an NFL head coach. His presence has turned the Bills into the hot-headed, undisciplined Jets, and his absence seems to have turned the Jets into a professional football team.

I still can't get over the fact that Wrecks had the gall, very early into the season, to hand out a game ball to the owner for having the balls to hire him. What a pompous ass.

The Jets don't suck like they used to, but with Goody and Woody at the helm it's more probable than not that they'll screw it up.

I agree. We gotta find some balance. Need to stick with the run. Play physical
A win was a win but last night it seemed more often than not that in the 2nd 1/2 they ran when they should have passed and passed when the should have ran.

Sincerely,

Armchair Offensive Coordinator.

I am very surprised with fitzpatrick's play. He hasn't sucked as much

I'd personally like to see Belichick put more emphasis on stopping the run this game. Chris Ivory is a monster and is averaging 115 rushing yards per game and 5.5 YPA. We need to stop the run game on the early downs so we can get our 3rd and longs.

Agreed we need to take one of them away and it HAS to be Brandon Marshall. He's their second best player on offense so far, averaging about 100 receiving yards a game and he already has 4 td's in 5 games. Also looking at history against the Pats, since 2008, his average statline against prolonged to a 16 game season would look like: 91 catches for 1383 yards and 7 touchdowns. Maybe give him a good dose of Malcolm Butler with McCourtney/Harmon over the top? Idk. But if we can limit Ivory and Marshall then that means Fitzpatrick, Decker and the rest of the Rats offense would have to outscore us and I don't really see that happening.

Amazing how much better the Jets are without Rex. Rex is destroying the Bills

S Richardson said the Jets are licking their chops at the thought of facing the Patriots.

Hmmmm: BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR SO FAR.
