Brady's response through Don Yee

I am staring to worry about Yee now, I want him to defend Tom and I was fine with the first few comments publicly but I think he is getting a little out of hand. So the NFL is clearly monitoring what the public feels and I bet considering that as part of the punishment process, this isnt going to help. I want Yee to defend his client during an arbitration meeting because there is no way the NFL is not going to punish Brady, it is happening, probably today. Let it go to arbitration where the NFL has continually been proven incompetent of putting together a decent argument and let Yee take it to them there. Then when he wins he can go spout off.

I think I will let Yee and Brady's other advisors handle what is best. Talk, don't talk, don't talk TOO much, or too little, don't get angry, but don't treat it lightly, blah, blah, blah. It's way too fine a line to walk to handle this correctly.

I have no problem with him spouting off before and after. Especially in a society that seems highly impressionable to such drama.

I agree but right now most of what he says is going to be put in the "thats what he will say" category. When he releases notes about tom's interviews and goes to arbitration/court with line by line items it might make more impact . Right now noone other than pro pats fines are agreeing with him anyways.

Herald: Were there any examples of evidence used in the report, such as the text messages between Jim McNally and John Jastremski or Walt Anderson’s testimony, that you had a particular problem with because you believed it painted Brady in a portrait of ‘more probable than not’ guilt?
Yee:
"The one complaint I would have is that in every instance, the investigative team did choose to appear to give more credibility to all of the league’s witnesses, the Colts’ witnesses. And in each instance, when it came to Patriots witnesses, they appeared to not give them any credibility with the exception of the kicking ball."

Herald: Do you recall when that interview occurred?
Yee:
"I have the date somewhere. I don’t recall the specific date. I believe, also, that Tom was the very last interview they conducted, so it’s possible given that he was last in the queue they may have had some preliminary opinions formed. I don’t know. I had that impression, but I could be wrong about that."

I like what he's doing. To whatever extent they feel is prudent, he's going out in the mediaand blasting the **** out of the league and trying to expose their bias and incompetence. This is exactly what most of us have been clamoring for since Spygate.

Seems like next to no one stands up against the league in a significant way. This is the chance to come out strong against the league. It carries some weight when it is the top flight organization in the NFL and defending champions.

100% cannot roll over and take this.

I don't think you understand Yee or Brady's PR team's strategy. It's a phased approach.

The general public already have an unfavorable opinion of TB12. It is what it is. He is already guilty and it's done. The general public is influenced by the media.

Part 1-By Yee going on these shows, he is pragmatically and cogently defending his client and educating the talking heads and hoping to turn a few of them around and become more informed on the matter.

Part 2-He is putting the NFL on notice by basically saying that he has plenty of ammunition to appeal a suspension. If you want to suspend him, roll the dice and take your chances. Essentially hes giving them a preview of his legal strategy and hopes to deter any disciplinary action they league chooses to take.

Part 3- He's smoothing out the landscape for TB12's public statement.

This is all garden variety legal strategy stuff
-Influence public opinion
-Deter the other party from going to court
-Set your client up so they can publicly defend themselves

This is all textbook 101 legal strategy.

Wouldnt the NFL talk to brady and hear what he has to say before they announce anything or are they going to just announce based on the report?

Its a very delicate state of affairs right now between the NFL and Brady.

I don't think they want Roger or Troy Vincent anywhere near Brady or Donald Yee because what Yee will do is bring in the NFLPA. What happened to Rice and Peterson will not happen to Brady. They will not be summoned to NYC like lambs to the slaughterhouse. They will be packing major legal heat. It would not surprise me if Demaurice Smith and NFLPA GC is also present. Thats pay-per-view stuff right there and you betcha that everything said in that meeting Yee will bring to light and put the NFL in the worst possible one.

Another aspect of what (I think) Yee is doing is by publicly discrediting the report, he will force the NFL to contact him and say enough is enough, lets get together and work something out. If the other side is unwilling to come to the table, sometimes you need to smoke 'em out.

Yee is pretty mild in this interview.

Anyhow, even if Yee is a lawyer who acted in a lawyer-like capacity when Brady was interviewed, he's an agent rather than a litigator, correct? So if things get to the point that Brady files suit or whatever, Yee won't be the front man.

Read up on Yee. He is a lawyer and a very, very good one. Widly respected. Highly credible and carries impeccable credentials.

Hey GLM yeh you, if your going to disagree then write why instead of being a coward.
Big scary man.

As far as Yee, of course he is going to defend his meal ticket, but I do belive him but all anyone other than us will see if a an agent defending his meal ticket, probably worse than a lawyer (sorry to the Lawyers out there).
First off, he is a lawyer.
But if he really has all he says he does he should release it to the public and make a stand before the hammer comes down.
That would be an illogical move. You wait to see what the punishment is first then you make your move.

IF he doesn't then he is as bad as the NFL.
And the icing on the cake. Tom's agent is as bad as the NFL. Right.

But there was no investigation or threat of investigation when Tom talked to the equipment guy
Woa.Great point....I missed that. True.

I listened to his interview on CNN last night while waiting for a flight. I was very impressed and believe that Tom is in good hads. Yee sounds like he knows what he's doing.

First I should not have been so offensive personally, bad day, but I still hate dislikes without a comment, but Ill start playing that game myself if thats how we play.

A Lawyer that probably hasn't practiced law in how long...? I dont know.

Holding the info, yeh I probably agree but then he needs to shut his mouth in the mean time, cant have both and make it work.

Yeh I do believe that agents are only hired guns and only a step above a used car salesman.

I think you are taking it out of context. In fact, you've not actually given the context in which it was mentioned. Yee mentioned it last night because it was a question asked of him and he mentioned the rule and what the rule states.

This is nothing more than Yee signaling to the league that a fine may not be contested.

You're saying Tom Brady's lawyer probably doesn't practice law? How does that make any sense?

Why can't he have both and make it work? Expand on this.

You do this constantly
