Any talk on if/when Brady is going to respond to the report?

Brady giving some memorabilia to a guy who works for the Patriots? If you scroll down the report he gave a football that made mention of his 50,000 yards passing. That took Tom all of what 3 seconds to write and costs him nothing? If a coworker asked me to write my name on a football for him with some cheesy note that would mean a lot to him (or family member, friend, etc) and take me 10 seconds I'd be a jerk to refuse, unless he was asking me to do it all the time. Using this as a chief point of evidence in the report only lends to how weak it really is. Did Wells make any effort to look at circumstantial evidence in Tom's favor? Does he give memorabilia to a bunch of people?

This report in my mind exonerated the Patriots with an opinion contrarily written to it's findings. The NFL will try to use it's unsubstantiated opinion for unjustified and excessive action. They will try to suspend Brady, then the appeal will be the official exoneration.

The only actual evidence of wrongdoing was McNally taking the balls into the bathroom, and it's still circumstantial. It should have been a one page report.

What are the odds the Patriots have been running this scheme all this time and yet no hard evidence of it could be found? Oh I forgot, we're only using circumstantial evidence against the Patriots.

I saw one thing in the report (not a good thing, IMHO :( ) that I don't recall people mentioning here. The consultants pointed out that (even after adjusting for sample size) the standard deviation in the halftime pressures of the NE balls was quite a bit larger than the standard deviation in the halftime pressures of the IND balls (0.4 PSI vs 0.1 PSI, IIRC). Yet (according to the refs's pre-game measurements) the IND and NE balls had very similar standard deviations at checkin.

You're worrying about something that Wells himself conceded had a rational explanation that he simply didn't believe.

There is no proof such measurements were ever, in fact, made.

"Based on this information it is safe to say that more probable than not that Seattle would have scored if they ran the ball at the 1"

This is his latest gem. He also suggests that Brady will be suspended. I wonder if everyone here will still be piling on his opinions?

Tom Brady lied at that presser. ****ing bankrupt Mark Brunnel was right and I HATE that but he was.

The SharksOfVegas guy is an idiot, with no sources, just trying to gain exposure for the website he/they run.

When I initially followed that account, I was spammed in my twitter "DMs" to sign up for some ******** on their website.

In the big picture, does it really matter? Unfortunately, no one outside of N.England believed him last time, so I don't know it's a good idea or not? I suppose he, his agent, his lawyers, and maybe the organization will have to make that determination.

Well I can bet this just made Brady's decision to stay in New England after he retires pretty easy. Even with the lack of actual evidence, everyone outside the region will skewer him.

40+ pages of stuff that wont change public opinion nor the opinion of Troy Vincent, I guessing Brady gets Suspended.

Im disappointed as a pats fan, I dont think it helped them and yet again they allowed themselves to get busted for something that didnt matter. I cant understand why the Pats dont know everyone is out to get them and subsequently protect themselves. Reading that report sure makes me feel Brady was hiding something, and Im not speaking to the texts at all. People have been convicted of crimes with less evidence.

its too bad because all that will ever be talked about him is he is a cheater...it is written in stone now.

The report says that according to Exponent's analysis, the IND balls were underinflated by an amount consistent with physics, while the NE balls were not. One can certainly argue with Exponent's analysis, but I wouldn't expect media types to do so (how could they)? So it's reasonable for the media to not talk about the IND balls.

That's actually not what it says. The report ASSUMES that the Colts balls were not tampered with (they reviewed film/etc). The ideal gas law prediction actually completely agrees with the Patriots ball measurements (and the precision is not known as they did NO error analysis on the predicted value, so we have no idea if the balls that are under/over are within a statistically insignificant range (ie, within 3 standard deviations)), with the assumption that they started at 12.5 PSI as the refs claimed. What doesn't fit is the Colt's half time PSI readings. They did not differ by the 1.15 PSI from the assumed pre-game inspection value of 13.0). The obvious explanation here is not that physics is wrong or the Pats cheated... it's human error on recording of the pregame PSI. The Colts halftime PSI would fall in the 1.15 PSI drop if they started around 13.5, which would fit with the drop that the Pats balls saw. I'm not even suggesting that the Refs lied or misremembered. They could have simply used different equipment that gave different readings, or the Colts balls were prepared differently than the Pats. It's a far likelier explanation than the Pats cheated... Using the Colt's ball as a control is totally bad scientific approach if you can't be 100% sure of the starting PSI (from memory is NOT acceptable in a scientific paper. It just isn't).

If the scientific analysis AND conclusion that Well's drew was submitted as a scientific paper, it wouldn't make it past the editors. If I submitted it in my college physics course my teacher would probably fail me! Totally unacceptable.

Yes, I'm quite aware of the fraud that is SoV. The issue is that yesterday, people were still treating his opinion as gospel. I just found it ironic that he's changed stances yet again, and now is predicting a suspension. Unfortunately, I have concerns that he may be right this time around. Let's hope not.

The level of evidence is definitely stronger than I think most anticipated. Now I guess it's a wait and see to hear what penalties the NFL lays down against Tom and the Pats. Let's hope is just a fine but I have a feeling it's going to be more than that.

You have to appease the mob!

well if it matter the fine for altering a ball is 50K, but Brady will viewed as lying and Sean Payton knows about that ;)

I'm actually disappointed with how little evidence there actually seems to be.

unbelievable the lengths some of you will go to deny the obvious.

brady lied, he deflated footballs, probably for years, and he's going to get suspended a few games. my guess is 4.

f* it, it happened. it's annoying that he didn't come right out and admit it when the story broke, but the guy has 4 rings, millions of dollars, and a supermodel wife. he will be fine, and so will all of us. deal with the burn and move on.
