Heard from a pretty good source that Pierre Thomas visited #Patriots earlier this week.

We need that Vereen replacement/upgrade!

Thomas is a good 3rd down back and he was a cap casualty.

well, if he visited earlier this week, doesn't sound promising.

After Bush left without a deal and went to SF. My gut says Thomas is signed by NE sometime this week.

LaFell visited last year and left without being signed only to be signed days later.

CJ2K is DOA and not a Vereen replacement anyway.

Chris Johnson has one fantastic year in 2008 and has been coasting on that ever since. He is cooked.

Honestly I don't think Thomas offers much more as a 3rd down RB than Brandon Bolden. Bolden was serviceable in that role in 2013. I would just use Bolden and develop White or a rookie as the season goes along.

James White was big talk in training camp. Vereen did as much as White did as a rookie maybe even less so I wouldn't concede that he cannot just step into the 3DRB role as Vereen did for Woodhead.

I think I'd rather have Chris Johnson or Ahmad Bradshaw.

You're one for two there, Marqi:

Sporting a sling on his injured arm, NFL running back Chris Johnson posed for a photo for the first time since he was shot in the shoulder during a drive by shooting in Florida this weekend.

Johnson appears in the photo with two other men -- one of whom is sporting bandages on an injured arm ... and the other who is flipping off the camera.

The man with the double-bird is rapper Kenny Turner -- a friend of Johnson's who posted the pic and included a message that appears to be directed at the shooter.

"I HEARD YOU P*SSIES LOOKIN 4 me!!!!! WE GOT something in common....f*ck YA!!!! #juice."

As we previously reported, one of Johnson's friends was killed in the shooting -- and Johnson is not cooperating with police in the investigation....."

Don't think very highly of him. Give me stevie Johnson. He can have an impact here.

That actually would be a very prudent approach if it's productive. Using in-house resources always puts you a step ahead.

Shmessy - merge your duplicate threads man.. *LOL*

Excellent call, Marqi:

We have been looking for an Aaron Hernandez replacement...

Would you stop with this nonsense.. Johnson had 6 straight 1000 yard seasons. And that is despite not having a capable QB for 3 of them.. Every season but one, he put up better than 4 YPC

That being said, he doesn't have much mileage left on the tires and it's unlikely that the Pats will look at him because of the recent law issues.. Especially after how they were burned with Hernandez..

He's got 122 catches for around 900 yards over the last two years, to go along with 770 rushing yards in that time frame - and had a 4.9 ypc last year.

when has Bolden ever shown any ability to approach that kind of production?

eh...ill disagree much rather have Thomas. Bolden is a mediocre all-around back and is nice to have as depth but certainly not who you want going into the season as the starter.
