I haven't seen any credible report that Revis is asking for 16 million per.

Per Rappaport this morning, expect tags for McCourty, Justin Houston, Demarius Thomas, Dez Bryant, NDamukong Suh (26 million), Jason Pierre Paul, and possibly Jeremy Maclin.

Reiss is saying Ghost is more likely to to get tagged than McCourty.

NE is getting cheap. How about McCourty is getting greedy? We dont have enough info to support any of theses statements.

Predicting Mccourty to be gone if allowed to talk to teams in free agency.
Vereen makes alot of sense for Colts, or Giants.
Ridley to the Saints or Cowboys if they lose Murray I bet they would sign Ridley then draft a back as well.
Ridley to the Bills is a possibility as well.
The one guy I do not want to lose is Mccourty.

I expect the Colts to pursue Ridley and Vereen.

With 40+ million in cap space and no real significant free agents, the Colts should be aggressive in FA, frontloading deals while Luck is still cheap.

If McCourty tests FA, I expect that he would be their #1 target. Ridley would also be a great fit there as well as Vereen. Ridley could easily win the starting job in Indy as opposed to NE.

Uh oh...McCourty is already gone

It will be interesting both to see if he is right send what that really means.

I guess the Milk Carton Kids were right, Belichick shouldn't be doing the drafting, too many good players to sign.

It doesn't make sense to not tag Mccourty unless they think Harmon can take over for him with little drop off I would disagree however.

I choose to not jump to conclusions unless he signs elsewhere.
This goes times 1000 if it's a division rival.
Here's hoping Reiss is mistaking and Mccourty indeed get's the tag or a new contract.

Remember that teams must be in compliance with the salary cap (for the Top 51) as of the first day of the league year. Gostkowski's franchise tag would be about $5M less than McCourty's. That may factor into it as well.

Hearing from inside source John ****toston that BB is much more concerned with the run defense so he's gonna use a 4-4-3 defense with Pat Chung as the deep safety so he views retaining Alan Branch as the priority to McCourty...once again just what I'm hearing from my source Mr. ****toston

Especially if they aren't asking Wilfork to restructure at this point in time, and that appears to be the case.

I prefer Jack Fecalmatta as a source.....as does ESPN.

Wilfork over Mccourty I really hope not.

Profootball talk and mike reiss saying that gostkowski might get the tag over mccourty

We have been saying that was a possibility for quite some time in this forum.

Personally, I hate this time of year. I wish we could just resign everybody from last year and get to September 1st already.

I swear to God letting Mccourty walk would be an incredibly stupid move.

Or they could move on from McCourty and Wilfork and sign Suh for ~ same Money? Then move Ryan back as Safety.. Just as option.
