Elway built the whole entire offense on Manning's shoulders that he forgot about the defense and offensive line.

No different that what BB did here.

Denver had a Top 5 defense and their o-line was fine. He was not surrounded by the 2010 Patriots.

He and Manning are best buds keep in mind that.

Elway is not paying a 39 year old qb $20m if he doesn't think he can play at a high-level.

Denver is not in as bad of shape as people think they free up over 30 million by cutting Peyton ware and letting Welker go they really only have two big name FA's and Julius Thomas, is over rated IMO.

don't get me wrong they will be far from a SB fav without Manning but they are still a franchise going in the right direction with Elway as the GM

Wait, what? They're facing the prospect of a near-complete rebuild. As for John Fox, I was never a big fan of his in Denver. As soon as Manning came in, he merely seemed like a puppet. That said, he's been a halfway decent coach in other stops throughout his career and did a nice job with the 2011 Broncos so I'm sure he'll land on his feet.

The Dumerville thing is supposedly on the agent, not Elway.

As for Welker, they stole a reliable player, and one of this generations best receivers away from his biggest rival. How was that a mistake, at the time? Welker declined at a faster rate than Manning did, that wasn't to be expected.

Let's not forget that Welker gave them 10 TDs without playing a full season, either. I don't think anyone expected us to replace Welker as easily as we did.

Elway went out and signed as many great players as he could for one last run. He just didn't predict Manning to fall off of the map as quickly as he did.

Denver is rebuilding with or without winning the SB this season, Elway tried to give them the best shot he could to win it right now, as it was the last shot they'd have. That should have been pretty clear to everyone.

The interview the 49ers are having with Gace is suppose to last 10 plus hours however reports are is that John Elway will be nearby immediately at the conclusion of the meeting.
Am I the only one who is laughing at the thought of Elway sitting in a car swearing bullets nervously rubbing his hands and running up to Gase at the end of the interview like a cliche movie.
Elway saying I should of never quit you and Gase saying show me the money.

I have no idea what teams see in Gase.
He was promoted (early based on experience) to be the guy Payton Manning taught his playoff losing offense to.
He could be a genuis and a great coach to be, but he has a skinny resume.
