If hes willingly to split time with Gray then **** yes. Grays played well but a career isnt made in one great game (he looked good vs the bears as well I think).

He wasn't willing to split time with arguably a top 3 RB in the NFL. He isn't going to split time with a practise squad player.

Pouncey referred to him as a locker room "cancer". He has a me-first attitude, and honestly, I'm not sure why you guys want him back. He can't do anything that Jonas Gray can't.

46-5 isn't much of a 'split' in carries, and that's what it was the past two weeks.

I would like to bring Blount back to pair with Gray to keep both fresh, but Blount's appearance of an attitude gives me pause. Hopefully he would understand the deal here having already spent a year here and everyone did seem to like him.

In the end I would be happy with him back but would not be too upset if he ended up somewhere else.

Gray provided all the power running I hoped he could for a fraction of the cost. That's a pass for me.

You guys think his attitude is a big deal? Majority of NFL players are assholes just some display it more than others. Blount when he was in NE was a fine player and embraced the Patriot culture he would add depth and it's starting to become the point of the season that an injury can affect the outcome of a team. I would be pissed if Gray got injured and we had no power back suitable to carry the load

If the majority of players in the NFL are assholes, just think of how big an arsehole you have to be if those other assholes think you're an arsehole. :)

FWIW, Blount is the furthest thing from a power back.

BB sure didn't seem sad to see him go...who knows if there was anything to it or not. I say don't bring him back, don't mess with what's going on ...it's ok, there are 4 backs and a FB, we are good. Who you going to cut? That would be my biggest concern.

he stats may look ok 65 att for 266 yards but if u takes away his one 10 att 118 yard game he has 55 att for 148 yards at 3 yards per att,

I have no problem if the pats sign him but he is not good a nuff to be the lead back that he thinks he is

The Broncos could have Corey Dillon back there and still not know how to run the ball. They play 90% shotgun, 3 WRs + a receiving TE, and have never heard of a FB. All Manning wants out of his RBs is a guy to catch a dump off to pad his stats. Patchick mentioned they run the ball the 31st by percentage in the entire NFL. The Broncos problems with running the ball isn't the RBs IMO.

On the other hand, the Colts try to have a power run game, T-rich is just terrible. If I were them, I'd call Blount right now to fly in and name him the starter.

Also, Blount is so bad in pass protection that his very presence on the field pretty much telegraphs a run. He just never developed that part of the game, because Tampa Bay apparently doesn't coach its players (ex: how he ran way too high and tried to dance around guys for three years there, and only learned to use his size when he came here). He could still be a useful contributor somewhere--including here--but I would be absolutely shocked if Denver even wanted Blount. Your take on what Manning wants in his RBs is right, and Blount is pretty much the anti-that.

Couple of points
1.) Adamjt13, the comp pick guru, wrote this
"In order to qualify for the comp equation, a player must have been a true Unrestricted Free Agent whose contract had expired or was voided after the previous season (i.e., he cannot have been released by his old team); he must sign during the UFA signing period (which ended July 27 last year); if he signs after June 1, he must have been tendered a June 1 qualifying offer by his old team; his compensatory value or contract value must be above a specific minimum amount; and he cannot have been permanently released by his new team before a certain point in the season (which seems to be after Week 10) or, possibly, before getting a certain amount of playing time, unless he was claimed off waivers by another team." Emphasis added by me.

I take the above as if Blount is claimed that he will not count in the comp pick calculation for the Patriots

2.) the claiming order is by standings.
3.) New rule/process this year - We will not find out if the Patriots put in a waiver claim

Let's add it up: Despite talent that had him projected as a high draft pick, Blount went undrafted in 2010. "Major character concerns" were universally cited. In his NFL career he has unquestionably productive, yet he is currently looking for his 4th team in 4 1/2 seasons.

So...yeah.

Who are you going to cut?

Realistically, if you sign a RB, you probably have to dump a RB from the 53 man roster. You can't cut Gray. It is highly unlikely that White would make it through waivers to the practice squad, so you've just lost a young RB for a 9 game rental on a malcontent stoner.

White would be IR'd. That would be the only sensible way Blount could be added to the roster w/o giving up on White's potential to help this team in 2015.

I rather have blount than james white who showed Nothing. besides that blount didn't seem like a problem child in his time here

We all see the need for depth behind Gray, but are happy to go without a backup to Vereen? That didn't work out very well last year....

IMO an RB who can catch the ball (and pick up blitzers) is an absolute essential. Which means you need 2 of them on the 53.

I was a Blount fan last year but I think I have to pass. It's more about not ruining what we have going at the moment. Gray was allowed to rush the ball more than twenty times and that is what I have been screaming for. Blount/any fa back would cut into that. At the moment, this isn't rbbc and I like it that way.

Bolden had 21 catches last year. He's no Vereen, but he can catch the ball. So can Develin. Both can pass protect.

White has 3 catches for his career and is unproven in blitz pickup.

Pretty easy decision for me TBH, given last season -- plus, the fact the Patriots have no backup at that "power" running back position. (And it's a small miracle that the Pats even had Gray, sitting on the dang PS no less, for when Ridley went down.) Bolden, who was leapfrogged on depth chart by Gray in his first season, is clearly no longer that guy and really hasn't been ever since returning from that suspension.

That said, doubt he makes it all the way down to us.

I would cut Jordan Devey.

Most recently, Jordan "game day inactive" Devey.
