I usually do, too, just strange to see such a discrepancy between opinions.

How long have you been following the Patriots? We regularly see discrepancies between the Patriots "beat reporters" and the National ones. The only one who isn't extremely biased or incompetent is Howe. People on this page write better, have better football knowledge, or are less biased than the rest of them. And that includes SMY.

Which "Pats beat guys"? Jeff Howe seems to agree with Mayock..
I saw it from Reiss on ESPNBoston.com and Petraglia on weei.com.

No reason to be condescending. Sure there are going to be differences in opinions. Not everyone sees the same things, clearly.

OT-I think Favre is going to use the packers press conference to announce the retirement of his number and induction into the packers HOF to announce he is returning to them and Rodgers will simply have to step aside. Either that or he will text Packer Nation a picture of his ****.

I saw it from Reiss on ESPNBoston.com and Petraglia on weei.com.

Reiss is the same guy who had the Pats drafting Jon Beason and Cassel being cut in 2008 for Gutierrez.
Petraglia?? *snicker*

My comment wasn't condescending. I was being brutally honest because I don't know you from a hole in the ground and I don't make assumptions based on "join dates". Your comments about the press make you sound like a noob to the Boston Sports Scene who really doesn't know how poor it is.

Reiss is great as long as he's not giving his opinion. That's when he gets into trouble.
Field Yates is actually pretty decent when it comes to opinions and breaking down plays and such.

Bedard was ok when he was here. Others think he was great, but I don't.
Price at WEEI and Howe at the Herald are probably the two best currently.
SMY was good while she was at the PROJO, but she got corrupted at the Globe.
Volin doesn't know what he doesn't know. It's bad when there are threads on here dedicated to people having to school him on things in the NFL.

Reiss is fine even when he is giving his opinion.

Ask Belichick or Pete Carroll to make some predictions based on TC and preseason games and I suspect a large number of their predictions will be wrong.

Predicting the future is like that.

Regarding Mallett, I have not been to TC yet this year, but in August 2013, it was instructive to watch Brady (elite) followed by Mallett (competent), followed by Tebow (not even close.) The reports this year are better on both Mallett's development and Garoppolo in comparison to Tebow. Garoppolo has a long, long way to go, but at least he can make the throws.

My feeling then, as now, was that Mallett would be capable of managing a game, and possibly being a good fill-in if he got enough reps and developed some chemistry with the first-team. Last year with Mallett would have been awful with that group of receivers blowing assignments and dropping balls. This year is more reassuring.

Personally, I'm thrilled to hear that outsiders like Mayock who travel around to different camps see Mallett as a legitimate NFL QB. We're certainly not objective enough to judge Mallett since everything is through the lens of Brady comparisons.

I only pointed out that I found it interesting there was a discrepancy between their opinions. You are over reacting.

I hope Mallett ends up being a quality starter someplace in the NFL.

Vince Wilfork on coming to camp trimmer & role his wife Bianca played in the process: "My training camp began a long time ago – in March.”

Word up was that fierce Bianca would place herself between Vince and a plate of ribs and he'd have to get through or around her for supper. He slimmed down after missing a few meals.

Actually Bianca lost a lot of weight also! She looks good!

I suspect the same would be true of any QB in the history of the NFL. Exclude passes to their top 4 receivers and their completion rate is under 50%. I mean, if you are even throwing to somebody other than your first four options, something has gone wrong -- either injuries or plays that are breaking down.
Well Mallett plays the preseason without the top 4 targets on the team so that should be considered when assessing his preseason performance.

If she can stop Vince from getting to the ribs then I think it is time to bring her in for a workout at Center, I can't imagine Wendell would have stopped him.

From Zuri Berry:

But it wasn't just Brady and Griffin III that shined, backup Ryan Mallett appeared to have his best outing during Patriots training camp. The fourth-year quarterback out of Arkansas and Texarkana, Texas hit the sweet spot a number of times in 11-on-11s versus Washington's first- and second-team defense. He went 6 of 9 in drills and showed a sense of command in the offense that hadn't yet been visible to outsiders. Despite an early interception in 7-on-7s, he was one of Monday's exceptional Patriots in practice. And there were plenty others.

Serious weight probably 60-70lbs. She looks great. Ted Johnson what now!

Ill tell you what. If your into curvy girls. Shes it! She got a booty!

Says the guy accusing others of being condescending?

Hart said vince looked great today. Awesome news to hear

Tom Curran's blog on today's practice....pretty in depth

Postcard from Patriots training camp: Day 9 - Comcast SportsNet - CSNNE.com

"Ryan Mallett was lauded by NFL Network expert Mike Mayock for looking like a bona fide NFL starter on Monday but I mustn’t have been watching at the same time. Mallett had several picks and deflected passes during the 11-on-11 and individual drills."

Mike Giardi's take from watching Mallett...seems to be at odds with Mayock

A bunch of the Pats beat guys just basically shat all over this opinion.

They were the same misanthropes arguing that wunderkinden JAG might challenge Brady this TC...

Going 14-23 along with a couple of bomb TDs, certainly substantiates your observations...
