Guys...just got to the car....This is the single greatest sports moment I have ever had live in person...This is our payback for sticking with these guys through the hard time...awesome .

ugh im upset.

Minor nitpick:

Why is Edelman in over KT on the final play of the game. Is a 5'11 slot WR more likely to catch an endzone game winner over a 6'1 WR?

Hopefully Thompkins winds up as the WR3 soon. The redundancy of having two slot WRs on the field on most plays is not helping.

Saw one play on that final drive where Edelman was absolutely killed trying to get off press coverage. Have to agree with you. Edelman over Thompkins made very little sense.

It's not stupid to think that a run play would've worked.

It's stupid to blame the play calling when the execution of a equally viable play is at fault.

Ahhh, I see.. thanks for pointing that out to me. I`ll try and be smarter next time....then maybe I can edumacate other unknowing fans when the time arises.

Hightower was not good. A few times on key passing plays, when he joined the rush in a delay, he ran directly into a pile of players and gave Newton the space to scramble outside. And watching him play in the open space in zone coverage is even worse than Spikes. At least with Spikes, he's got pretty good instinct and puts himself in position. Hightower has neither good instincts in zone coverage, or fast enough to cover whoever is in his zone..

This was my biggest takeaway from the defense from this game. Hightower puts himself way out of position too often. He isn't filling the gap left by Mayo very well.

Panthers 8-11 on 3rd. Another game where the pats D Can't get off the field on 3rd

An outsiders take although I do say it was PI:The Panther had already jumped the route and broken on the ball. Even if Gronk was untouched there was no guarantee that's still not an INT or broken up.

Also - you guys claiming conspiracy here, you're all going to stop watching the NFL, right?

Because there's no logic behind watching a game you honestly think is fixed. Not even a little.

We got beat more due to not containing Cam than any penalty.

I'm not sure why people need to get all grassy knoll about this ****.

It has gone a little bit Oliver Stone in here hasn't it?

Why did you make an account? You obviously don't like the people that post here.

That's not what matters. For the ref to make that call, he has to think that it's a guarantee that he can't catch that ball. It's definitely not given that Gronk gets to the ball, but I don't see how anybody can argue that there wasn't at least a chance.

Holding is a 5 yard penalty with an automatic first down. The only difference is the ball would have been on the 13 instead of the 1.

The defense sucked, plain and simple. Posters around here were sucking them off as gutty when they were winning games in spite of injury and harping on "next man up". Well, if that's the case, then it's fine to point out how bad they were because they still sucked even with Talib and Arrington in the game. And I sure hope Belichick doesnt pull out that ultra-weak rookie excuse that you just did in the film room. Something tells me he won't though.

You aren't Belichick and pretending you have even a modicum of his knowledge is a joke. Second, there is only so many injuries that can be covered before you see a downgrade. We clearly hit that with the loss of Gregory, Talib and Dennard. This was the 1st game that ALL THREE were out. So, it's an entirely DIFFERENT situation. I would think that you'd understand that. Clearly I was giving you too much gredit.

The defense didn't suck tonight. Clearly you don't know what it means to have a defense that sucks. You've clearly forgotten 2002, 2000, and 1991, just to name a few. The defense actually played pretty well, especially when you consider that C. Jones, Ninkovich, Chandler Jones, and Vellano were all TACKLED at one point or another tonight. And that doesn't include Ninkovich being held on the Newton scramble late in the game.

Something tells me that Belichick always tempers his criticism based on the player he's dealing with. That includes rookies..

Now, you want to criticize individual defensive players like Cole or Hightower or Arrington, so be it. Call them out with the particular play in mind. But to say the entire defense played poorly says your talking out your rear end.

So? What does any of that matter?

The problem with that is there was nobody on the grassy knoll. However there was PI there. And every living person not a CAR fan, and you think otherwise.

nope..never happened...you two birds are right...now fly back to JI and give each other high fives and OG OG OG's with your green Rat buddies

11 straight completions to that point. The runs on that drive prior to that 3rd down call..... 5/1/0/3/6

Clearly, there's nothing wrong with going with the pass in that situation.

lolololol man you are totally delusional--you decide a lot of your positions half-****ed then draw a line in the sand you will never, ever cross in admitting that you're wrong.

The stats you quoted have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the play that should have been called in that situation--3rd and 1 in the redzone, Blount and Ridley in bulldozing mode, your defense absolutely decimated and gassed chasing Newton with plenty of time on the clock for Carolina to score the inevitable winning TD. You HAVE to play it safe there with a run or quick short pass, then probably go for it if you're stuffed--two tries to give yourself a chance to win vs. 1 stupid "catch em by surprise" play.

It doesn't get anymore clear cut than that Mr. Obtuse.

Kuechly is the reason why he got a jump on the ball.

He's not saying it wasn't PI. He's saying there is no conspiracy and that it is silly to think there is. Not quite sure why he thinks the idea is silly. It has been proven in other sports.

Brady's play inspires a **** ton of confidence going forward. Just knowing again that they can win games off his right arm and his sheer will to win is comforting. That defense is the best in the league and they had no answers for him all night.

Sucks that such a great game had to end that way, but I still believe that if Brady can keep playing at this level the Patriots can beat anybody.

This game played out a lot like the second SB loss, with people overrating the defensive play, while ignoring the fact that they couldn't get off the field.
