The Official Patriots vs Jets POST Game Thread

And thank you to the jets' coaching staff. How can they not double and triple cover Edelman?

They did a decent bit of that, but even with all the drops, teams have to respect Dobson and Tompkins with competent coverage.

Michael Irvin quite animated. Said Brady did too much demonstrating after those receivers. Way too much showing up of receivers when the rookies are playing their 2nd game in a complex offense.
I dont know how this builds confidence in these guys.

It is true. He's gonna kill the confidence in these rookies. Brady addressed it after the game as well.

He was enticed by the opportunity to try and run it back for a TD, I think.

I actually think he lucked out there on the Mangold hit. That looked as though it could have turned out pretty badly in many instances.

I'm shocked that it wasn't a total disaster.

I'm sure Talib is going to get his butt reamed by BB more than anyone else after tonight. He can be enticed all he wants. We don't need a TD so you fall down. It was the dumbest play of the night.

Watch the replay and you can see Geno's chin connecting with Chandler's helmet and then Buchanan's helmet hit's Geno as well. In today's NFL that's a penalty, pure and simple.

I watched a couple of replays and it sure looked like Chandler's hit was in the chest and then kind of slid up into Geno's chin. That happens when you tell someone that they can't lead with the helmet, but rather, they need to "see" what they are hitting.

If being yelled at by your QB because you're dropping balls left and right while screwing up your routes is too much for you, you don't belong in professional sports.

Loved the defense’s attitude. Can’t stand Brady right now. Prima donna to the max. I would have loved if someone asked him what his role and responsibility is for brining alone the kids.

Tom Brady please grow up and act like a man. This is embarrassing. Oh and by the way your team just beat the JETS.

Cant have it both ways, his intensity is what makes him great, hard to ask him to take that away, that said he admitted tonight he has to work on toning it down.

Wonder why we didn't use Boyce as much. With all the miscommunication and drops with Dobson and Thompkins, I would think that Boyce would have got a shot out there. I think I saw him once out there.

We are through the looking glass Deus...

On that 3rd and 5 at the end....them Jets ain't too bright...

Edelman caught 11,989 passes tonight in short yardage situations....he's the only Patriot receiver who can catch the ball....and they let him get open.

That was the flaw that doomed the Jets. They kept everyone in, stuffing the run. To this amateur it seems that all they needed to do was to hit Edelman at the LOS to delay him or double cover him or both. Then their D game plan would be perfection as our X and Y receivers were beclowning themselves as rooks are wont to do under pressure.

Posters don't like Gregory. Many, many had hum not making the 53.

I can think of a certain "draftnik" off the top of my head who guaranteed all summer that he'd be cut despite getting the most starting reps opposite of DMcC throughout camp.

I have always liked him as a rotational safety, more in the fold of a #3 instead of a #2, but never wanted him gone. That may change next year however when his cap number is increased and/or one of Harmon or Wilson step up.

Amazing that Talib wasn't seriously hurt on this.

Really. One or two drops, maybe. He had all the right in world to blow a gasket. And BTW, it wasn't as bad as the mediots are making it out to be. He is VERY competitive. And I'm sure he doesn't give a 5h!t what anyone thinks. And judging by BBs presser , either does he

I couldn’t disagree more. He is a papered diva. Can you imagine working with someone like him on a team? The only person sitting with him was Josh. He needs to shut the hell up with his little drama queen act and try and lead. Destroying these kids is a great way to make sure they never amount to anything. I saw the Jets offense huddled around talking about what they were going to do and Geno showing more leadership. Brady is very talented but he shows no leadership skills at all.

Let's give Brady the benefit of the doubt.

How do you know they haven't ran certain routes in practice now for weeks at a time?

I'm actually glad he's a fiery leader. It may be the difference between a wasted season of growing pains and going deep into the playoffs.

I don't mind fiery, but Brady was getting a little Marino-esque out there tonight. They were already looking pretty jittery. I don't think getting yelled at by the team leader helped any. They needed calm, cool Tom tonight.

I'm not surprised that he manned up in the presser either. He's as good in front of the camera as BB. I don't think I've ever heard him say a bad word about a teammate.

Thank goodness Geno decided to follow in Sanchez' footsteps and focused on throwing the ball to the other team more than to his teammates.

Are the Jets drafting color blind QBs?

Time for the brilliant Red Light Green Light gimmick that enabled Sanchez to reach great heights

You see it that way because yo want to. Nobody here knows if Brady is a good leader or not. Only the coaches and players can say so.

Not everyone thinks a participation trophy and an "attaboy, everyone's a winner!" is the way to go. Belichick called him something like "the best leader I've ever seen".

His body language and attitude is also effecting the way he plays. He missed on a few of those passes, including two sure touchdowns. So it's not just about disciplining the rookies.
