Pro Bowl Snubs and Gaffes
By: John Morgan

If fans or the media are going to rant about their favorite player being a Pro Bowl snub, then they need to also declare who get cut from that honorary roster...

One last thing: why has the decision been announced now? What if there were two equal players, and one has a monster game in Week 17 while the other is abysmal? Why the rush to make the announcement? Doesn’t it make more sense to wait until all of the regular season games have been played before making a decision?

Now you are just being silly. What does it matter WHEN THEY ANNOUNCE the results. All in all it is a bit of a silly exercise; results are a joke, but the players who get picked like it a lot cause they can use it to negotiate salary.

IF YOU WANT TO COMPLAIN.....The problem is WHEN DO THEY DO THE POLLING. They start polling fans back in like week 9 or so. I can only imagine the media, coaches and players get their ballots around the same time. So a whole bunch of early-voter people are making their decisions based on the back half of the previous season and only one half of this one if they are informed about much of the league beyond their own team or division anyway.

Throw in that they list players to be voted on by the position they held in TC and a guy like McCourty who is now a S is listed as a CB.

And guys who might have been second string, get promoted during season can be overlooked entirely by not being listed as a voteable candidate regardless of their stats-performance.

I absolutely agree in regards to the timing of the polling - both with when it begins as well as when it ends. Why are the coaches and players ballots collected before the season ends? Why is fan voting opened up with half a season still left to be played?

Why conclude the voting before the season ends? Why stop there? Per that logic we may as well also declare what players rushed for the most yards, led the league in receiving, and passed for the most yards and touchdowns before Sunday's games as well.

Mainly what I got from this is that Manning > Brady in the media's eyes so this is pretty indicative of the MVP race as well.

I'm no fan of his, but Dez Bryant got snubbed hard
