Who will the inactives be for the Super Bowl? Here are the most likely candidates as we await kickoff....

He lists 11 players, only need 8.

Re: Pats Inactives for the Super Bowl

I don't like this thread title.
All speculation and will be confused with the real inactive thread that will come later.

Re: Pats Inactives for the Super Bowl

the fact that he put the DL they just brought up to the roster tells me he is jsut throwing it at the wall and see what sticks

Re: Pats Inactives for the Super Bowl

This is an incredibly misleading title. I thought it was going to be the actual list.

Also, you only need 7.

Double-check your fingers and toes. Also, 53 minus 46 equals seven inactives for every game, not eight.

The column lists twelve possibilities, with a guess for which seven

My guess: Mallett, Vereen, Thomas, Guyton, Brace, Cannon and Ridley will not be active for today’s game.

For the record these were the inactives for the Ravens game:
WR Chad Ochocinco
RB Stevan Ridley
RB Shane Vereen
OT Sebastian Vollmer
LB Gary Guyton
OL Donald Thomas
QB Ryan Mallett

The article says Mallett, Thomas, Vereen and Guyton are automatic; I don't think there's any arguing that. The other three are anybody's guess from the rest of those listed. I'm going to guess Brace, McDonald and one of Ridley, Faulk or Polite.

Patriots inactives: no Faulk

@Patriots: Super Bowl XLVI inactives are: Ryan Mallett, Kevin Faulk, Shane Vereen, Gary Guyton, Donald Thomas, Nick McDonald & Ron Brace

Sad for K. Faulk, personally. No real surprises here though.

Re: Patriots inactives: no Faulk

Ridley in.

HOld on tight kid.

Re: Patriots inactives: no Faulk

Oh my god it's Troy Brown all over again...

Re: Patriots inactives: no Faulk

Wow, don't like that at all.

Re: Patriots inactives: no Faulk

Two things stand out.

No Brace means that they feel confident that they can stop the run with what they have,

Ridley being active. I said it earlier in the week and I just might be right in believing that the Pats are going to run the ball over 35 times today.

exactly my first thought :( ...not a good omen

Am I missing something? Faulk is a shell of his former self. I love the guy, but Ridley's a much bigger threat. JUST HOLD ON TO THE DAMN BALL.

Re: Patriots inactives: no Faulk

Love Faulk and sad we likely have seen him play his last game, but it's the right move. He's too slow at this point in his career and would be a longshot to see the field. Here's hoping we send him out right tonight.
