This is in no way a shot at the op, or ocho....... But come on.... Who gives a crap!

This is such a waste of digital ink!

That camel picking the giants to win is a more interesting story for crying out loud....lol

This game needs to get here....now :p

It's a ncie gesture to his teammates.
Would you rather he not talk to any of them?
Do you expect him to spend 24/7 on football? It's not like this took more than 30 minutes of his time -- maybe even less since he probably has someone who makes the purchases on his behalf.

Obviously everyone would rather Ocho have been a probowl WR, but for whatever reason that hasn't happenned; and its not for lack of effort -- lack of effort would've gotten him cut. Either his skills have diminished, or he's not a good strict route runner, or he can't understand the playbook -- all issues the team should've realized prior to signing him, and perhaps issues the team could've worked around -- if its a playbook issue, would it really hurt to have one guy who has a simplified, no route options, playbook?

As I and others have said through this year, the problem with judging him (or any other player) is that we just don't know WHAT he was asked to do as part of the game plan, or on any specific play.

Several of the passes that TFB threw to him this year were off, and about half of those were when he was VERY open. The blame isn't completely on him for those.

It's also quite possible that Ocho & Branch are being used to stretch the field and take defenders away from the middle in order to free up Wes, and the TE's. Of course, if the TE's and Welker are covered, then that DOES help out the other WR's. But Brady still has to make those throws, and for whatever reason, he's been going in and out of rhythm this entire year.

If Belichick see fit to keep him around, then he must be doing something positive for the team. Coach B doesn't keep players around when it's obvious they cannot or will not contribute.

Let's see what happens after the season wraps up and the player and position evals are done.

It's a slow week for football talk:cool:

He just spent 0.005% of his salary on those beats. That's like us buying 5 dozen donuts for our 53 co-workers. Not that big of a monetary sacrifice, but a nice gesture none the less.

Ocho saw the camel getting more pub and needed to attract attention to himself.

Nothing more.

Nice gesture by Ocho. He really has done everything asked of him to be a good teammate. He's ne of the reasons I would like to see the Pats bring the SB home.

My preference is the Bose QC3. I absolutely love them. Pricey but worth the cost in the long-term. Hear same things about Beats .... Overpriced and performance isn't here.

If you follow him on twitter you will notice last night he asked a random follower that lived near Foxboro to pick him up at his house and drive him to dinner.

You just gotta love this guy.

Gotta love the let's spread the blame to Tommy rationale... And Belichick does keep players around when it's obvious they cannot or will not contribute. AD says hi. Bill assesses his options and it he can't replace you with a better player or get compensation for disguarding you or if he's sunk a chunk of Robert $$ into you and he's basically upside down against the cap where you're concerned. He only cuts you then if he has no choice because you're causing him more damage on the roster than off it. Chad has been, in the immortal words of Evelyn Lozada, a non-mf'ing factor on the road to a Superbowl. He will decide how he chooses to deal with that as he re-evaluates his roster sometime after February 5th.

Maybe he decided that since he hasn't done anything to actually earn his play-off money, he would give it back to the people that did.

All joking aside, a really nice gesture by Ochocinco. And I know it hasn't worked out the way we hoped, but I wonder if we do cut him or give him a full off-season and training camp to see if it makes a difference.

The majority of his compensation this year was on a $4.75M signing bonus to be spread out over 3 years, so it is a sunken cost and a hit on the cap for the next few years anyways. He was kind of thrown into an offense that was way beyond anything he had seen with the Bungles, so maybe a proper off-season and some throwing time with Tom will make a difference. It won't hurt to keep him around for the next training camp.

Mo:

You can't deny that, for whatever reason, TFB has been missing some throws this year that we've seen him make in years past.

I don't know why that is, whether it has to do with his left shoulder, or schemes or if it's just a fluke.

The thing is, though, that there have been misses to go along with drops by receivers, and like I said, we'll see how things pan out for Chad after the season is over.

respects,

Who gives a crap is the media and the 3 million twitter followers of Chad the entertainer. It's all just a cry for attention at a time when he knows he hasn't earned any as a football player. But that's OK, frustrating but OK, for a guy who starts filming a new reality show next month based on nothing beyond painstakingly engineered social media driven celebrity.

400 bucks...just like anything else, ipods, iphones, new sneakers etc. You'd be surprised at all of the wanna be DJ's out there, and all of the word of mouth purchases that go along with what's hot. Some of us paid 400 for a ticket to last week's game, I don't see how it's any different.

As far as this story goes though, who really cares about Ochocinco's purchases? (not a shot at the OP, just stating that I am kinda tired of hearing about it everywhere)

He's got millions of dollars. Guys get fined for 15k, 20k all the time and it's no big deal. So he took some of one of his 2 playoff bonuses and bought some expensive presents..big effing deal.

Maybe he should be concentrating on finally trying to successfully help his teammates in the biggest stage of the yr.

"A fool and his money...." No wonder you're always reading stories of former NFL guys being found homeless and penniless years later. There are other things Ocho could do to support his teammates like you mentioned above, but hey it's not my money and whatever works I guess. If it was me, I'd be looking into the local Boy's & Girl's Club and asking what they could do with $28,000 and donating it in honor of the entire Patriots roster.

Typical response from MO...that other hater must be working the morning shift at McD's.

Check out his completion percentage - throwing for over 5K yards.... He isn't missing throws we've seen him make in the past anymore than he ever did. Just because he's set the bar so high, and because people tend to want to find easy answers when things don't work, doesn't have anything to do with why Chad has been a bust here. Going on 26 weeks and counting. Bill would say...we've had over a hundred practices... Mini camp and OTA's and ANOTHER TC aren't going to change that.

You give a crap. You are in every Ocho thread giving a crap. You give such a crap you follow his every move, you know about his projects, etc etc.

Haters are just fans who don't know how to love. The haters are where the money comes from. Ocho thanks you and knows he can count on you to continue following him and giving him that attention...which equals money in his pockets!:singing::singing:

LOL Great defense of the underperforming entertainer who spends his mornings getting nutrition at IHOP and his afternoons jonesing for latte companions at Starbucks and evenings pandering for celebrity jock sniffers to take him out to dinner...

Maybe lousy nutrition is the root of all Ocho's problems...
