Eli over Brady?

By tomorrow, Eli will have become the greatest player in the history of sport. Welcome to the stupidity of the NY media and fans.

na, thats just you being a typical new england area drama queen

Brady is 6-2 all time against the Steelers, with a 66 completion% and 104 passer rating. Oh, we also beat them twice, in Pittsburgh, in the AFCCG. If that's now 'owning', I don't know what is.
uhm... u played them 3 times since 07...

does what happened before then really matter?

and if u actually do believe that, then u would have to agree if I said the GIants own the Pats

You know, most people here think Eli is a good quarterback and is certainly on the rise. He is definitely hot right now and earned a lot of admiration for the beating he took in SF. But because we're saying he hasn't paved his way to Canton yet and is not in the GOAT discussion at the moment, you're all bent out of shape.

Why?

Well, seeing as you are counting a loss in 2008, when Matt Cassel was at QB, I don't see why counting games played previous to 2007 is absurd, especially when considering Pittsburgh's players might have changed, but the systems in place are pretty much the same, particularly on defense.

So, in other words, you're now just making crap up.

Got it.

if responding to your points by using your same logic is making crap up - then i guess im just fighting bull**** with bull****...

but i get it. You use something as an example and its suppose to be gospel, but when the example or stat is used against you, its making crap up

got it

No I wouldn't, since Brady is 2-2 against the Giants in his career. Apart from that not being a losing record, it's way too small of a sample size to judge. Your argument makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Hey, if Eli never wins another SB, is he a Hall of Famer?

Lol, it's true isn't it ( though I'll gracefully remove Favre from the equation). With Eli I always feel like I'm witnessing something annoying.

im sure that has NOTHING to do with 2007

I think that if Brady had two receivers like Nicks and Manningham, he would be much more productive. Nicks is a friggin beast of a receiver.

Hey, if Eli never wins another SB, is he a Hall of Famer?

it would have to depend on how he finishes statistically...

i don't think its a guarantee at all, but i do think 2 superbowl wins would put him over the top

okay so ur argument is that Brady is clutch because he got in FG range

but Eli who is known for winning in the clutch and what he did in SB42 is all luck... but MY judgement is clouded?

Half of the arguments in here about why Eli isn't anywhere near Brady is becasue of superbowl wins.

Yes, getting your team in FG range is putting your team in position to win, right? He could've just thrown something in the air and hoped one of his WRs by luck would catch it, but Brady's was much more smarter than that.

I only mentioned Brady was more clutch in his SBs than Eli was in his SB. Not Brady was greater because he won more SBs. Excluding the rings Brady is light years ahead of Manning.

Manning only get half the love he gets because he's Peyton's brother. I guess that's as close to GREAT he's ever gonna get.

I just asked you why did the Giants struggle that much if Eli played at the level of all time great quarterbacks?

what struggle are u suggesting? This year?

because the defense was putrid. When your defense gives up 36 points to Seattle, is that not saying something?

Re: Qb

if u really believe that about the defense then why would u mention trent dilfer?? Because I didn't mention him at all.

Because you were arguing the "winning in the postseason" angle. Dilfer's got a better win percentage in the postseason than Eli. Using your angle, Dilfer > Eli. It's an example that destroys your argument.

Its not nonsense, Osi has been back since week 16. The defense wasn't even average, it was putrid. If you think Eli didn'ttake us on his back then your just misinformed.

It is nonsense. As I've pointed out elsewhere, Eli had as many games with a sub 80 QB rating as Brady had games with a sub 100 QB rating. Also, to point to Eli as carrying the whole team is absurd. The Giants have 12 wins this season. In 9 of those 12 wins, INCLUDING ALL 3 PLAYOFF GAMES, the Giants have allowed 20 points or fewer.

And not for nothing, while the defense has gotten back (besides this past SF game) the offense has carried its weight as well like it has all year.

I never said the Giants offense sucked, or denigrated it at all, so this is a non-issue.

If we dropped one of those first 7 wins we had, we don't get in. Thats the truth of it, whether you want to accept the truth or not is your own issue. And since Osi and Tuck got healthy for week 16 and 17, our offense averaged 30 a game for those two games. We put up 24 (with a missed FG) vs the Falcons and then 37 on GB.

If you dropped any of the 7 games, you don't get in. That's nice, and all, but it's irrelevant, as I've already demonstrated.

Actually the Broncos use to own the Pats, and Brady fixed that definitively this year since they had a perfect record against Brady. He's unlikely to ever break even against them, but I think the wins over them this year were very definitive. Then came the Ravens, and tortured them in the same fashion by beating them with a worse NFL QB passer rating like they did. So now all that's left is...Giants.

Then Brady could actually retire in peace if he wanted to.

And if I remember correctly Brady did have to deal with some egg on his face because he laughed when everyone said you'd keep the Patriots to 17 points. It's time for him to make good on his promise and blow the Super Bowl out like he wanted the first time 44-30.

So you admit he's not presently putting up HOF numbers.

You still haven't answered why the Giants lost 7 games and were on the brink of elimination if Eli played as well as you claim he did.

actually I did multiple times.

It was a combination of having a line that got him killed this year, a tough schedule, and a defense that was PUTRID.

If your going to somehow suggest that lineplay doesn't attribute to a QBs success, i'd have to ask why u really think u lost the 07 superbowl.

I don't want to hear becuase of THE CATCH when THE GREATEST OFFENSE EVER scored 14 points
