BOB has had a good year. Dont know why we cant blame brady for some bad plays...miss to gronk, throwing to edelmen in bracket coverage. Everyone has bad days..its a big pressure game. Give BOB credit. He learnt from last yr jet loss and turned to the running game in the 2nd Quarter.

Your exaggerations are bad.

Slater is 5'11. Not 5 foot zero.

Geez DB, your sarcasm meter is broken this morning.

When someone says "This apple is sweet as sugar" you don't need to get out the science kit to measure.

I will say it again

Screen!!!

They did not do one WR or RB screen Sunday...

They better against Giants after last super bowl

How is the OP a mod? How embarrassing. Its not BOBs fault that Brady missed a wide open TD and threw a dumb pick into coverage.

At least Tom is honest about it. I hope we never see anything that stupid again.

I don't understand blaming BOB for something he never called. If Brady wanted this, then Brady owns the decision. How often do you think an OC can tell the GOAT QB he can't have his way? I imagine it happens, but I'm sure its infrequent.

Ye gads. We have had a great offense for years and its all been in spite of Charlie Weiss, Josh McDaniel and Bill O'Brien.

You guys that complain are the kings of hindsight, the champions of the do over. Go to your room!!!

Being a mod is a burden and a service to the rest of us, not a reason to deny someone having an opinion.

BOB is not at fault for Brady's poor play, but it is the play calling that is being questioned regardless of the execution.

I agree that BOB's play calling stunk in that game.

Aren't Mods (occasionally) alllowed to wear their emotions on theri sleeves?

I'd argue that it was an excellent play call. We've been complaining all year that we need a deep WR to take the top of the defense and open things up underneath. Well Slater took 3 DBs with him (I'd have to look at the coaches tape to see how the coverage actually went to him). SOMETHING should have been open underneath. Brady should not have thrown that ball in that coverage unless Slater was wide open. Don't blame that play on BOB, blame it on Brady.

Clearly it was Chad Ocho Stinko that called those plays, he sent them in via Twitter.

After reading this thread hard to believe that we are on a ten game winning streak, going to the Superbowl and have averaged 30+ points a game...

As much as I did not care for the game plan, from my couch it seemed that Tom was a little off... we also do not know all of the subtleties of this game.

The other play that I shook my head at was just north of the 2 minute warming you pick up 7 yards on first. You have to snap the ball again but the clock is stopping no matter what. So they run a sweep and lose yards. I thought that was the perfect place to run play action and then hit one of the receivers on a short and safe pass. I always think to the clip of BB in one of the America's games saying know the situation. Clearly B'OB didn't.

This play was on my mind alot and pisses me off just as much as the bomb.

Yes, I was talking to my dad post game and that play pissed him off worse than the bomb.

I agree it was the PERFECT spot for play action. Just a really poor series. We played very subpar yesterday even giving the Ravens credit for an awesome defense.

Good defenses force Brady to throw to 4th, 5th, and 6th options in the pecking order - I seem to recall an inordinate amount of targets to Danny Woodhead, much more so than there should have been, against the NYG back in November....against Pittsburgh he threw a ton to Kevin Faulk - more than normal - and yesterday we had the Julian Edelman/Matthew Slater show for some focking reason...the INT thrown towards Edelman was one of the worst throws Brady's made in a long time. Hopefully Hernandez, Gronkowski, Welker, and Branch all can get themselves open in two weeks....
GO PATS

I thought BOBs play calling was fine in the first half, and as the game got farther into the second half and the score was close he got out of the game plan that was working in the first half. This seems to be his MO especially in big games, keeping the Defense honest by running the ball is out the window. He becomes pass happy.

Brady stunk also.

Doesn't exhonerate BOB for a terrible gamecalling that went away from what was working.

It takes more than just one party in a game to stink. Brady is Brady - - we're not going to replace him (and there's no one in the organization currently - - or on earth - - who is better). BOB is distracted and we have McDaniels right here. To Mo, who rightly said Crennel and Weis were also distracted in SB 39 - I would fully agree - - however, they were far more experienced NFL coaches than BOB and we did NOT have any former coordinators sitting in the press box behind them at the time.

******Also, here on this forum, we debate topics - - not grind in the mud with personal insults because we disagree with someone's opinion. If you want to do that, here's a good forum to join: http://forums.theganggreen.com/

Brady is one of the greatest QBs of all time and may end up the best in 2 weeks but throwing the long bomb is not one of his best strengths and should only be used when he sees a fallen safety or corner as he is about to pass.

This team has won consistently without a downfield threat and we don't need Brady to become Peyton Manning all of a sudden.

The long bomb to an unproven and raw deep threat and one that had rarely been playing at that position after Spikes appeared to have sealed the game was definitely one of the most ******ed offensive play calls I have ever seen from this team...or any for that matter.

There was nothing wrong w the play call, for the last time. Brady didn't have to throw the ball. He could've dumped it underneath to Welker or thrown it out of bounds. He made a mistake, and fortunately, the team was able to recover. He won't make that mistake again in 2 weeks you can be sure.

I don't know Darryl but i think the Ravens Choked the game away. That was a great play by the DB knocking the ball out of Lee Evans hands but if it was ruled a TD on the field i'm not sure it would have been reversed. Watching it, it seemed it could have just as easily called the other way. And the kicker spit the bit on that tying FG.

I can't see the Giants making those same mistakes.
