You can belittle him all you want. The facts are there. The kid's winning
Tim Tebow might be 5-13 when he has an 18 game sample size as a starter. You're comparing an 8 game set vs an 18 game set. Kind of lopsided.
Tebow is a bad quarterback. He's a decent football player, and I will admit that he is a winner this season, can't deny that. But it isn't because of his quarterbacking skills. I'd say it has more to do with his character and determination. If the team rallied around Orton like they do for Tebow they'd be better off, especially with that defense.
Tom Brady is just a game manager. If the team played as well around Bledsoe as they do around Brady, the team would be better off.
Please tell me you didn't just do that...
Oh, I just did that.... It's not a claim that Tebow is Brady. It's a demonstration that people are being both premature and hypocritical.
Sorry, but apart from the position they were put into, there are no similarities. Brady completing 20% more of his passes and having more yards passing (in his first season starting) than Tebow's total yards through both seasons with 2 less total touchdowns.
New England didn't win in spite of Brady's play, Denver is getting lucky to be in these games with how Tebow leads the offense for 55 minutes each week. If it wasn't for those miracle drives where everything comes together for just a few minutes Tebow would be benched. He's a good player but he doesn't belong under center for every snap of the game.
That's irrelevant to my point. I'm talking about where he's at now. Right now, he's a QB who's taking a team that plays .222 ball and has them playing .625 ball, because he's finding a way to get his team wins. The people bagging on the kid are just being idiots.
Sounds familiar........

In spite of this current 'miracle run,' the scouts and naysayers are being proven right actually--the guy cannot throw a pass to save his life.
First time I've really watched him since college and I was shocked at how bad he is as a passer. But most telling are his mechanics, which haven't changed since he was at Florida, suggesting he is incapable of becoming anything resembling a good passer in the NFL (just as most NFL scouts have always said).
I'm not discounting that he seems to have a mythical aura right now, but absent divine intervention [seriously], or the Broncos somehow making the option viable again in today's NFL this is a total flash in the pan and Broncos fans are delusional that he is their long-term answer at QB.
Before we put him in Canton, lets watch him win a few games against "real" teams. You know, teams that might actually defend the run in the final minute against a QB that can't complete a forward pass.
Keep telling yourself that.
Some Brady passing yardage totals from 2001:
46
86
107
108
.... and those "miracle drives" count. Tebow may flame out, starting with the very next game he plays, but, to this point, he's getting the job done and getting his team wins, and he's doing it as a "project" with half a season of starts under his belt.
