Nope, Tim Tebow can't play in the NFL

And teams that can't score themselves which keeps it close. I agree with the subject (minus the sarcasm), I don't think he can be a winning QB in the NFL long term. He's having a fun ride for now though.

Agreed. You're not going to win long term throwing for 100+ yards a game with a completion rate of under 50%. He can't make some basic NFL throws to an open WR. The Broncos needed a Sanchez pick 6 to be in the game.

Ahhh, maybe

The pick six happened.

It's wrong to assume the play happens in isolation and everything plays out exactly.

Denver almost ran a kickoff back. Was that isolation?

Tebow

The kid does not turn the ball over

The team seems to rally around

He doesn't need to become a Brady/Manning passer. What level is possible, I'll leave to the experts.

Did not watch the whole game last night, and was not that impressed with either quarterback.. not sure an option QB is the answer in the NFL.

He does somethings well, but if you look at Vick et al mobile QB's get beat up very quickly, last thing you want is a beat up QB....

He is not very accurate in passing the ball. He's still young, so maybe he will be able to improve his passing game. If that happens, then this is just the beginning of Tebow-mania. Anyway I was a huge fan last night :D

Pure Patriots fan porn last nite.

He is also much bigger/stronger than Vick. Funny to see a QB run towards the middle of the field instead of running out of bounds to avoid the hit.

the denver game is going to be tough, not just because of this tebowmania thing that is happening.. but the pats usualy have a tough time... i think we might have a easier time vs philly than denver...

I'm not assuming the game plays out the same way without the pick 6. I was trying to illustrate that they only scored 10 points on offense and needed a big turnover to be in the game.

Not only did they only score 10 points on offense, there were a number of drives that started at the 50, or actually in Jets territory, that the Broncos got no points off. If the Broncos had a serviceable quarterback the game never would have been as close as it was. But for the grace of God;) the Jets offense stinks and Denver's defense is good.

The simple fact is that defenses are not used to defending the option in the NFL. It is going to take some time for them to figure out all the different wrinkles in the Broncos offense, but once defenses do, Tebow is done.

Now, if you noticed, a couple times Tebow got destroyed when he didn't have the ball. That is what teams will start doing, hit the QB on every running play, smash him...that will end Tebow quite quickly.

The Jets actually stopped the option game very well. They seemed to change things up on the last drive, though, with more defensive backs in the game.

Denver IMO can add a lot more things to this offense that Tebow can actually do. He does not throw the conventional passes well, but he is very comfortable throwing (and obviously running) from the shotgun spread offense if he has a lot of short slant routes to tight ends, slot receivers, and backs. Low trajectory, 5-15 yard passes. That's what he did at Florida and he did have his share of even 300 yard passing games. That level of NFL success is unlikely, but the deep out routes they are trying to get him to throw are just painful to watch.

The kid is tough as nails. His running instincts are such that if he ever gave up the QB position, I see no reason why he could not be a Mike Alstott- type productive fullback.

He hasnt exactly faced the stiffest competition.

They beat KC, Miami, oakland, then Jets, on 3 days rest with no rb and the d won it for them.

All the articles should be about van miller not tebow. The D is winning these games in spite of tebow.

A QB that can't pass, but runs into contact constantly should have a long career in the NFL.

Brady, for years, has made a fuss on how he spends great amounts of time offseason with a QB coach (recently deceased, RIP) almost exclusively to work on his mechanics and techniques.

If the best in the business accepts that his technique needs constant improvement and that he's got to learn, wouldn't you think a guy like Tebow would be working like crazy to have somebody teach him how to throw?

In fact, I'm surprised Brady's coach didn't get 30 other calls for help from guys not named Peyton.

In spite of this current 'miracle run,' the scouts and naysayers are being proven right actually--the guy cannot throw a pass to save his life.

First time I've really watched him since college and I was shocked at how bad he is as a passer. But most telling are his mechanics, which haven't changed since he was at Florida, suggesting he is incapable of becoming anything resembling a good passer in the NFL (just as most NFL scouts have always said).

The Broncos O-line is the unsung hero of the game.

The kid red-shirted for a year, plus he had an entire offseason to work on his mechanics, and they don't appear to be any better than they were with the Gators.

I'm skeptical that he'll ever be a textbook pocket passer, nor should he be, if that's not his game, but he could be a Vick-plus type.

That's irrelevant to my point. I'm talking about where he's at now. Right now, he's a QB who's taking a team that plays .222 ball and has them playing .625 ball, because he's finding a way to get his team wins. The people bagging on the kid are just being idiots.
Tebow is an awful passer. It's impossible to argue otherwise at this point.

However, he might be the best QB in the game when it comes to making plays with his legs.

The problem is that teams are still playing the Broncos like a traditional offense. But they aren't a traditional offense. They're running a glorified wildcat, and it's only a matter of time before teams realize that they don't need to defend the pass against Tebow.

He'll complete passes here and there, but his accuracy is so terrible that you might as well let him throw the ball. If he can't run, the Broncos won't score more than 10 points a game.

The issue then, is whether your offensive line can stop Dumervil and Miller. For instance, I have doubts about whether the Patriots line is capable of doing that. NE @ Denver could easily become a trap game if we don't come up with something to stop those two. And it could get even worse if our D-line can't handle their O-line, who run block pretty well.

Denver's defense deserves much of the credit for winning the last few games.

The kid looks awful for long stretches of the game. In the end, though, he's winning. Hell, he almost brought his team back in that Chargers game. If Lloyd hadn't dropped that 2-point conversion, that game would have gone to overtime, and we don't know what would have happened at that point. It's possible that the Broncos would be 6-4 after tonight's game.

I'm sorry, but I'm not going to bag on the kid for getting his team in that position, considering where they were coming from.

Have to agree, The prettiest passers in the NFL don't a QB make. It is charisma and leadership. He had plenty of yards passing at UF. People need to remember this kid still only has a handful of NFL starts. He is a leader. I think that differentiates Tom Brady as well to one of his major attributes to his success. Tebow will never throw like Brady or Manning but the game is important to him. Whatever it takes. Last year everyone tried to change his throwing style and I am sure these back and fourths are an issue. The kid apparently has some football smarts as well. I remember BB thought highly of him.

People like to pile on that kid because he professes his faith as a Christian. He doesn't hide it. Good for him. He doesn't put down people who chastise him. It's the "cool" thing to mock him and hate him.

I hope the kid succeeds. It's refreshing that someone so young can lead like he is a ten year vet. True it is only a few games but let's see how he does for a whole season. I think you can learn to throw better and target receivers with training and reps. How do you rep to be a leader? How many QB's in the NFL who threw ugly have had great careers?

Anybody ever see Phillip Rivers throw a football? He shot puts it. Not a bad QB (this year is not). Steve Young was not your typical NFL passer. He had a few that came out funny.

Let's see how this works.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE BETWEEN MARK SANCHEZ AND TIM TEBOW TO LEAD YOUR TEAM FOR THE BALANCE OF THIS YEAR AND 2012 TO BE FAIR, WHO WOULD YOU CHOOSE? I GO WITH TEBOW.

I hope the Pats took notes on not letting the Broncos stay in a game until the end. That game is worrisome now.

it's all fun and games when Tebow humbles the Jets, but I can't WAIT until he faces the Pats :halo:

I would stop following football altogether. Both unacceptable choices.
