Why did the other thread about this get moved to the Political Forum?

Ryan's Act IS SO PLAYED OUT! If Jets are still buying into his BS of Bashing others to get chalk board material( See Brady & Belichick), Jets are BIGGER DUMBA$$E$ than him which could be debated anyway.
But wait, didn't Ryan & Jets win SB last year? Oh thats right, they beat us in PO and thought that qualified as a SB win, someone forgot to them there was agame next week.

I appreciate that San Diego is 4-1 and is a bigger threat to a home field bye currently, but I'm still rooting for the Chargers to destroy the Jets on Sunday. I'd love for Rex to be silenced as early in the season as possible. Here's to the Bolts "de-feeting" the Jets.

Same here - sew up the division title first, in which endeavor any help is appreciated.

At least Jets fans did not get a chance to say that Rex was a genius for inventing this situation to turn the heat off his team and on him. This is a buffoon who does not think before talking and his team is morphing after him.

I have no idea.

I was afraid that the chargers may come East and not be fired up. I'm not worried about that anymore. The Charges are the far better team and if they play sharp and focused, the will crush the Jets.

Merriman is in Buffalo now. They are used to drinking before big games.

give him a little tequila haha (although in his defense, that ***** was crazy)

I think this idea that Rex is now in the Chargers head and has them losing focus is a total load of BS. How could one comment get a team to lose focus on a big game like this? At the NFL level players are just better than that. According to a report on Sirius this afternoon the Chargers players thought it was a funny comment by Norm, and they were glad he responded. Seriously, players talk trash on the field during the whole game and are still focused on their work. Yet somehow a coach making a comment in the middle of the week is going to throw the team off? I find it hard to believe.

I agree (though his name is Norv, not Norm). Also, I can't believe some people would give Rex that kind of credit. Like he was masterminding this great scheme to take pressure off his team. Please, he opened his fat mouth, said something dumb, realized it and called Norv about it. Instead of taking focus off his team, he dragged them right into the fray, as per usual. It might not end up affecting performance on the field but I highly doubt it in any way ensures a victory.

Rex Ryan apologizes for his comments about Chargers | ProFootballTalk

Hilarious - Ryan knew immediately it was a major blunder and called Norv to apologize and try to minimize the damage before the story even hit

Norv's smart enough in the gamesmanship to blow off the apology and use it to fire back - maybe even motivate his team as Ryan's effectively slamming them too saying they can't win on their own

Jets fans have to have some inkling that the Rex Ryan era ends with no Super Bowl and Ryan being fired, don't they?

Nothing like two mediocre coaches who were better off staying as coordinators barbing each other in the media. They both inherited teams with incredible amounts of talent on both sides of the ball (minus a couple positions) and neither have won or even made it to the big game. As much as I hate saying this, Mangini had something going in NY and Cleveland. It's too bad for him he didn't get enough time to finish it. Cleveland is taking steps back under Shurmur and Ryan has done a piss poor job of bringing in divas and not creating leaders.

They always say the first 1-2 years a coach is still working with the previous regime's team. After that time is up you really start to see what they're made of. Norv Turner, Rex Ryan, and Jim Caldwell's true abilities are starting to show.

No he didn't call him right away.....this went viral on patsfan, espn, the chargers board and jetsinsider, way, way before Rexasaurus took his foot out of his mouth(literally and figuratively).

He actually thought this was a back-handed compliment and didn't realize his gaffe until he got some feedback and after Norv's retort.

This guy is an egomaniac and loves to hear himself talk.....everyone in the jets* organization are afraid of confronting this petulant buffoon....think Bill Parcells....same bluster, but no resume,His act is now,officially....old.:bricks:

I don't see what the big deal is. Have you guys heard the Original Conference Call? Nothing interesting to see here. Other than how the Media has persuaded you to care and about this non-story. Just like they did to Norv :)

i'm not one to say football players should be 100% football all the time, but i just saw this twitter posting from out best defensive player:

ShaunPhillips95 Shaun Phillips
Just got my fly ass @DGK box this jacket and hoody is crack this is a must wear in NYC this weekend.

really?....excited about what to wear around town in NY?

i'd be going there for a ******* football game, not sightseeing/fashion show

I'm from SD too. I've become used to reading crap like that from Charger's players. Los Angeles' aura rubs off on these guys. They care about looking good more than playing good which is why you used to see Shawne Merriman, Shaun Phillips, Cromartie, and Jackson at any downtown night club any given Friday or Saturday night before a home game.

Every NFL head coach has an expiration date. Even, and I hate to say this, BB. But, does anyone here doubt that when it is time for BB and the Pats to part ways, it will be done in a responsible and reasonable fashion?
On the other hand, Wrecks' inability to keep his mouth shut, or, put another way, his insatiable need for attention, will make his "expiration" process thoroughly enjoyable for all Pats fans. And, the more he talks now, the sooner that expiration date will approach.

I just realized that I had no idea what "Norv" was actually short for. I figured it was Norvert or something. Turns out it's Norval. WTF kind of name is that?
