This is why I don't do mock drafts.

I think Bill hates the players in this draft. He's now just dumping picks into next year.

We now have to look to free agency for some help for the front 7

Agree 100%.

Strangest draft ever for Pats?

Solder/Dowling fit in nicely

Vereen-could go either way

Mallett- value was there. Think about kolb's value for doing ****.

Ridley- get out of here.

Obviously brady hated this draft. Looks like 2007/2008 drafts

Lombardi reporting that Pats trade this year's 3rd and 4th for Oakland's 2nd next year.

Now have 2 1sts and 2 2nds next year.

We seem to always have two ones ... and then do not take two ones.

So BB has a ton of 1st and 2nd round picks again next year?

Awesome. Maybe in 2012 he'll draft two kickers back to back in the second round and a "red-flagged" punter to back up the Zoltan.

If you think that at pick 74 there is an abundance of starting DEs and OLBs, I have a bridge to sell you.

Let's wait and see how the OFFSEASON plays out before we declare the greatest coach in history to be a fool. Do we think he became a fool overnight?

Allen Bailey and Greg Romeus say hi

Who's our starting RB for 2011 guys? I mean, he drafted two RBs so Idk what he thinks of BJGE now...

Yeah, you know you guys should really go tell BB he is killing this team. It is your duty.

What's scary about this draft is Belichick isn't even drafting the best players he could have gotten with his draft position at the positions (RB/CB) he's been drafting.

I guess I'll go start a 2012 mock.

I'll go ahead and slot the Raiders as pick 33 for next year.

Grid, you can start another Raiders Ghoul thread 2012.

I guess the kid from Citadel is going to be picked next.

Not even close. It was a team that had great talent. Many had suffered under the bad coaching of Pete Carrol, but the talent was there.

People wanted McGinest to retire, he had been injured so often. We didn't have the rosy scenario glasses back then.

And we got a seventh as well ????
:confused::D:bricks:

Agreed. Particularly after the year that BJGE had. Did we need to go 2 RBs in this draft with our pass rushing woes?
Ridley is a head-scratcher, but that tells me there has to be something we do not know.
BJGE, Woodhead, Vereen already in tow says Ridley is an unnecessary choice. That tells me not that BB made an unecessary choice but we are missing part of the story.
My first thought was Ridley is going to be turned into a FB, expanding our offense with a weapon from that spot, but we use so much 2 TE, that minimizes the FB roles.
Real head scratcher but I expect it will make sense before long. Lets hope for all the BJGE fans that what we don't know involves him.

As far as Mallett, really, with a 14-2 team that has already added players returning from injury, and still will have a FA period, with this many picks, you just can't pass on the potential of that pick at 74.

God, it's so entertaining to read all your posts. Thank for all the fun. Glad you all took your medication.:D

Those of you who haven't seen Mallett play don't realize that BB just extended the Pats' contending period by 10 years. Mallett is the best pure passer to come out in years.

My take is that the kid talks like vanilla ice and isn't the paradigmatic golden boy QB personality, which put a lot of people off. But, my goodness, just watch him play.

I know there were only a few of us who believed this but I thought Mallet was easily the best QB in this draft. He's Drew Bledsoe II. The kid is an incredibly natural thrower. Let him mature, see what he's got. He's a top 5 talent if he didn't have a 10 cent head.

There have been plenty of brainless QBs with big arms in the NFL, from Jeff George to Dan Marino.

I love the Mallet pick.

didn't the pats get better when they put bledsoe on the bench?

It's not you.

It's truly testimony to how much of an ATROCITY this Draft has turned into, that you suddenly come across as semi-lucid.
I agree its an Abomination, my head is spinng like Reagons in the Exorcist. This may be the worst draft ive ever witnessed. And it should have been a killer with 6 picks in the first three rounds

Can anyone say that the Patriots are a better team right than they were 48 hours ago??

I fail to see it. Solder over Light, maybe

other than that NOTHING!!!!!!!!

I can't even believe how bad this draft is! Seriously how can you have all these picks, have the pass rushing demon at OLB fall to 14 and you can't trade up to get him?????????

I think the Jags just took Moffit the last hope I had for this draft. This is an inexcusable bad draft by BB.

This draft really tests our faith in BB. Love him to death, but this draft leaves me shaking my head. Just seems we reached on these picks, and are just building depth. Not what I expected with the firepower we had. I do like the Mallett pick, unlike many here.

Who's our starting RB for 2011 guys? I mean, he drafted two RBs so Idk what he thinks of BJGE now...

The Patriots have not, in recent memory, carried fewer than four RBs to start the season.

Right now they only had two on the 53 (Woodhead and BJGE). The Pats believe in RBBC, and I guess BB got tired of depending on unreliable over-the-hill backs.

So, so far we have 5 players, a 2012 1st and a 2012 2nd.

Now Belichick will see if he can find someone in the longshots tomorrow.

Schefter just tweeted Pats trade their 3rd & 4th round pick to Oakland for their 2012 2nd round pick....

LMAO, five picks made and we have the 2 firsts and 2 seconds back in the bank.:rocker:

And we'll trade one of those firsts for a first year pick in 2013, then trade one of the 2nd's for a third round pick in 2012 and a 2nd in 2013. Then with the three 3rd round picks, we'll pick Ben Vereen's son and another QB. The Mallett pick makes sense, because he'll be an 8 year Pat's veteran before BB actually starts using any of the picks.
