based on the way that draf tworks out.....

17 - DE wilkerson
28 - RB leshoure......unless tyron smith falls
33 - OT carimi....unless they draft smith at 28, then leshoure
60 - move up to 48 or so and take OLB justin houston.......reed is too much of a project at OLB to be drafted at this point
74 - CB Ras I dowling
92 - OG danny watkins
124 - used to get houston
156 - OLB steven friday
184 - DE brandon bair

I have questions about your thought process here. Why LeShoure? He will last until the middle of the second round and he doesn't seem to be a difference maker. He is o.k. Watch film. He plays slow (painful)

Why Justin Houston? He is maybe the least impressive of the outside backers other than Ayers who has poor pass rush moves and effort consistency. Reed brings somethings to the table that Houston lacks. One is a variety of moves and the other is distruptiveness that you see in a Matthews or a Jared Allen. I like to see the opposing O Line unsettled. Houston does not do that. Look at the tape. Houson has an outside speed rush (one trick pony). Reed has more moves like a spin, bull and outside. Your argument about Reed was the same issue some had with Matthews who lined up as a DE sometimes at USC. I would not be surprised to see Reed go in round one. Yes Miller. Quinn and Smith are potentially more talented but not Houson IMO. I even like Kerrigan better. Watch some tape. I like the upside of Reed and we don't use up a #17 pick.

Why on earth Tyron Smith? A 280 lb OT is not the answer for BB. Have you not seen what is happening with Koppen? Koppen is way too light and Smith is lighter. Nice athlete but not a big fellow. IMO BB won't draft a 280lb OT.

Watkins is a great pick but won't last until #92.

I like the Bair pick but, I love JJ Watt but I have a problem in that do we have him here with Mike Wright don't we? Watt is still my pick but I think Bair is again another Wright clone.

I have too disagree with the leshoure comments. "painfully slow" thats crazy talk when BJGE is your 1st option. Leshoure's 2nd gear is fast for BJGE, and he produces at this level.

ML has too many gamebreaking plays to be considered slow by any stretch. He has knocks but i think he will be a player. I dont want to see us take him early, but if he falls and BB were to take him I for one would be ecstatic.

We are a passing team but a running back who could break a tackle and get a long gain would've kept our SB hopes alive last year... period. Because of our inability to threaten a Defense from the RB position the "drop the roster into coverage" defense is utilized against us. Until we rectify it teams will continue to do that.

Would you like to view the take on Leshoure? This should nip this in the bud.

Will spend too much time dancing in the backfield. Lacks the top-end speed to get the seam and go for six. Needs to improve his route-running and do a better job catching away from body. Pass-blocking technique needs improvement.

This was from the NFL Network Scout evaluation.

That first sentence killed Mr. Leshoure for me and the horse he rode in on.
Perhaps it is time for agonizing reappraisal! The Pats have been there and done that!

So?

Belichick's board will be different, as will those of every GM. I posted 3 pretty good sources that believe that Leshoure is worth the 26th-36th in the draft. Against that we have you post believe that he is worth no higher than 49 (the first pick in the 2nd half of the second round).

There may very will be someone higher of Belichick's board than Leshoure when we amke our picks in the first 40 or so picks in the draft. Or perhaps, there will not be anyone higher than Leshoure. We need 2-3 running backs, so the issue is NOT lack of need.

The question is value. We certainly have you to attest to the opinion that Leshoure isn't worth a top 48 pick.

Position on a mock draft big board != positional value to the NEP

mg,
All I have to see is the word "dancing" and I am done. Let's talk about some other RBs. I am thinking third round and DeMarco Murray. As you say in BBs world he could be thinking another TE for all we know.

I actually think this is a weak RB class after Ingrim (would take him in a minute) so I think the new Pats RB is FA Pierre Thomas. Perhaps now we pick up a Bilal Powell in the 4th and call it a day on RBs.

The cool thing to say on this site as a issue of disrespect and smugness as if that person really could be considered to make a managerial choice is "No thank you", so I guess my dart would go to "Dancing Machine Leshoure". Remember, he might not be the fastest RB in the Draft but he struggles to find the open hole too.

Watching NFL network, Mayock believes it is one of the better drafts for defensive linemen with a potential of 7-10 first round picks.

In Lombardi's draft he selected 6 out 10 front seven defensive players
#1 - Bowers
#2 - Quinn - the kid has some sick pass moves

He's predicting Denver to take Quinn? That seems kind of odd to me. Whatever anyone thinks of Quinn, after switching back to the 4-3 (and re-signing Champ Bailey) it seems to me that the Broncos are thinnest by far at 4-3 OLB. My first guess would be Von Miller for them now.

Yup. I think it would be awesome to pick at 17 and have the opportunity to pick between 2 studs, as we now think of when we see the choice of Watt and Wilkerson.

My gut feeling is that Belichick may need to trade up to get his man.

This is pretty much my feeling as well and I've stated it in other threads. This draft reminds me of 2003 - when you had the Jets, Saints, Pats, Eagles, and Cardinals all moving up in the top 20 to grab a DL. This year, I think there will be even more DL/OLBs going in the top 20 and the Pats will have to move up to get the guy they want, be it Wilkerson, Jordan, Watt, or someone else.

Excuse me, but Tyron smith weighed in at 307 lbs at the combine.......Ive watched Leshoure play......you mus be talking about someone else.....ifthe pats were going to waste a pick indeed, they would have done the same for Connor bar win 2 years ago......Justin Houston was pretty effective in the best conference in the country........I think he's good value there.....your questions are silly

So you're depending on scouts for your info.....I thought you said you watched him, but since you're playing that game......one scout: tremendous one-cut runner with good vision to find the hole. Sometimes needs mre patience to allow blocks to develop.

Maybe you have something personal against him.

So phrases like 'can't get to the edge' ( powell) or can't stay on the field ( Murray) turn you on? You do realiz
e ray rice was a dancer in college, so was chris Johnson.

Leshoure played behind the worst OL in he big ten.....
