Randy Moss Press Conference

if you missed it, Moss did say he lost a step but he also said he is still faster than most of the other guys in the league. Go Randy! He also discussed how he felt back when he left the Vikings and during his time with the Raiders. And he said nothing but positive things about the Patriots, even Bill. He said he appreciated the opportunity and still has love and respect for the team.

He showed a lot of class for someone who was basically just stabbed in the back.

Seeing you seem to be a huge Moss fan and have voiced your displeasure with the Patriots on this on several theads, I'll ask you again.

1. Why do you think Randy was traded?
2. Do you think that Randy brought most of this on himself?

new question
Why do you think the Patriots would stab Randy in the back?

i think moss knows it...he said in the presser today

On whether the Vikings promised him a contract extension?

“I don’t really want to get into contracts. I think this is how the whole thing started. Some things in New England didn’t go according to plan, and we sit up here now. I don’t really want to get into the contract thing, I think everything will work itself out. If I’m going to be here next year as a Viking, then that’s what it's going to be. If I’m not then I’m not. Right now I have a job to do and that’s play football, so we’ll leave it at that.”

I wish Randy the best. He had one great year here in 2007 and other good years. He won me over as a supporter and kept his nose clean, for the most part, until this year. Then the antics started. It's too bad that he didn't get a ring here.

Life goes on.

He wanted a fat contract or to get traded, he pouted til he got what he wanted. Not sure how anyone can put this on the Pats and not on Moss.

Let's face it, everyone involved in this is trying to "stay classy". I'm sticking with Revis' assessment that good ole Randy was "putting on the brakes", aka, being a fkn punk beetch. Besides his one handed grab this year, I have not been at all impressed. He's turned into a one trick pony with the deep routes, which can be negated by manhandling him at the line. This experiment is over.
Gotta love how BB just pulls the plug when necessary. Ruthless vato.

I am pretty sure he wasnt giving it his all.It wouldnt shock me but lets not say he lost a step here.I think he's fully capable of playing very well still.I think he wasnt of the decoy stuff.:D

I wish him the same. I expected he would exhibit nothing but class during his press conference.

And for those questioning the outcome, he did not end up on the Vikings by accident given the fact a 3rd round pick is dirt, not value, given what the Pats gave up in return in terms of talent. The Pats likely could have gotten that or more from the wealth of teams hurting at receiver.

Randy was in all likelihood not the good soldier served up for some paltry reward - he needed a contract he was not going to get this season, did not want to wait and see and was about to make serious waves to push the issue (if he did not do that already despite team denials). The Pats could have held onto him out of spite but didn't as the organization respects Moss as well. This trade likely had to happen for both sides and represents mutual respect, not winners and losers.

Yeah, yeah, so what - - Teenuh's not over him being "stabbed in the back"!

i think something tom curran said a few weeks ago probably is true....moss says and does stuff without thinking how its going to affect him ...he speaks honestly but doesnt realize the consequences like the 1st game presser...kinda like someone with a kids brain..i really dont think he wanted to leave here even though he may have asked to be traded but didnt realize what will happen....thats him for you...not a bad teamate or whatever but not a lot up there when handling these moments...he got spooked by what would happen next yr if the pats dont sign him and where he would go and employed this tactic and it didnt work like he thought it would....

Wh... Wh.... WHAT??

If it bothers you THAT much, I'm sure there's plenty of room on the Randy Moss/ Vikings bandwagon

I think those antics were going on longer than you think,I think it all started with his semi-faint attack on Kraft saying the Pats would not retain him and sort of gesturing Kraft was cheap in a way.

I think it was mid season last year when things started to unravel and crybaby old Randy of the Raider days came up to surface and began to overflow this year, especially on MNF when Hernandez and some other players began catching balls and Randy was held in check.

Randy wants to be king of the WRs on the team that he is on,Welker,Hernandez and even Tate had a notch up on him since he has been unable to break away from double coverage and he was frustrated,I really don't know how much different it will be up in Minnesota with an old and now erratic Favre.

I believe Randy was NEVER going to remain an asset to this team this year unless he was signed by midseason which we all pretty much know the Pats were never going to re-sign him next season, next year is a year of uncertainty and for Randy that played a big role in his quest for a long term deal before the season ends and you can best be sure he will grapple with Minnesota's F.O. until a deal is reached.

What a classy breakup by all parties.

What a classy breakup by all parties.

Agreed. Really impressed by all sides in how they have handled this (except, I still think the Pats should have held out for Minnesota's 2nd rounder - - Major Dad and that franchise are desperadoes right now to win in 2010).

They could have gotten the vikings's second rounder. You know Favre wanted Moss in the worse way.I am not thrilled about a 3rd rounder considering past 3rd rounders.:(

Revis spent the entire second half in the locker room getting his leg looked at. I'm amazed he was able to tell that Moss was "putting on the brakes" all the way from there... must be some squeeky brakes.

My guess is Revis is pissed off that Cromartie did a better job covering Moss than he had.

Lost in that press conference was Moss thanking Mr. Kraft for the opportunity and the last contract. never even went near mentioning Mr. Kraft ... the devil is in the details left out.

what? You are reaching

Would that harken to the time that we won 3 superbowls?????

It would also harken to 2005 and 2006, when the defense was no longer SB-caliber, and the offense couldn't pick up the slack. And those defenses were much better than the one we have now.
