Notice that last year's Superbowl Champ also drafted a CB in the 1st round?

Everyone knows that you need to be able to defend high octane passing offenses like the Colts and the Saints to stand a chance of winning the Superbowl. BB has noticed this trend as well.

I think the Pats will take a passrusher in round 2. Teams will be restacking their boards overnight, and expect the Pats to make some moves as they have amassed a TON of picks in this year's draft!

Why would we draft a corner when we just locked up Bodden and have Butler? I can understand drafting a CB in the later rounds but was ANOTHER CB really the biggest need for this team?
They play more nickel and dime than 3-4 or 4-3 in this pass happy league. Having another quality CB is essential. BB must have had this kid rated higher than any of the other CBs that were selected after him.

Saying that, tomorrow's picks make or break this draft. They need to get a pass rusher and there are still quite a few available.

The Patriots have 5 picks tomorrow and the real value in pass-rushers is right where they'll be picking. Want Sergio Kindle? He's still available! Ricky Sapp? Still there!

Kindle and Hughes are the guys most of you are lamenting missing out on but one of them is still on the board and obviously the Patriots feel that there's greater value on pass rushers elsewhere in the draft, while the value to get a starting corner was only available at #27.

Agreed on all of that.

You do realize that if the Pats draft Kindle tomorrow that all the people who trashed the Pats for not drafting him will trash the Pats for drafting Kindle who is obviously overrated since he dropped to the second round.

Kindle got drafted? Must have missed that. The Pats have 11 more picks including three in the second round. By this time tomorrow, Kindle might be a Patriot.

As for Dez Bryant, it just save the Pats from having to cut him in two years like they did with Chad Jackson. Bryant might turn into a superstar with the Cowboys, but it is doubtful he would with the Pats. The guy was too dumb to pick up a college playbook. How was he going to pick up the Pats' playbook?

Not thrilled the Pats picked a CB with the pick, but I didn't want Bryant and the Pats still can draft Kindle.

Yeah, but wouldn't you have slept easier if No. 27 was Jerry Hughes, Sergio Kindle or Jared Odrick, who everyone has been in love with for months.

Four picks.

Not a chance, I'll change my tune. Do you really thing he'll still be there? Really?

No Dez Bryant, no Kindle...... this guy better be the second coming of D Revis.

MY HEAD HURTS.

So no punk and potential locker-room cancer, and no weak-ass, one-dimensional under-sized OLB - and your head hurts?

I doubt that. People will be thrilled that we are even making an attempt to upgrade the pash rush. That's all we really want, an attempt to upgrade the receivers and the pass rush. If the guys don't work out, they don't.

True, I wanted Kindle and while it's not likely, we still might get him.

However, looking at who's left, there's a lot better chance at getting a good pass rusher than a good corner.

Four picks tomorrow. G'night people, suicide hotline is in the front of the phone book.

Who cares who people are in love with? If you listened to the fans on this board two years ago, the Pats totally blew the draft because they didn't trade up over the Jets to get a stud like Vernon Gholston and instead traded down and reached for Jarod Mayo.

None of us know how any of these draft picks will do. I guarantee you plenty of the picks that people will be touting across the country tonight will be busts and the ones that people are scratching their heads about will turn into Pro Bowlers.
