Parking is $40 at Foxborough these days?!?

I'd rather watch it from home, the seats are better.

Last game I went to I sat down in the first tier and was very surprised at the size of the seats. Do they think football fans are all 100 lbs super models? Maybe TFB sized the seats for his family. It is definitly not worth the money imo.

Just one of the reasons I gave up my season tickets a few years ago.

Really? O....kay....

You are driving to a venue where you are going to spend your money. Why would you feel it's acceptable to have to pay that kind of money for the privilege of paying money? Disney charges only $14 for cars at its theme parks, for crying out loud.

But Disney World is open 365 days a year (or thereabouts). The sheer number of people who go there allows them to keep the parking charges low.

The Pats get 65,000+ fans to show up at their stadium 8 times a year. That's why parking is so expensive for football games (not to mention Bob Kraft is losing his shirt with Patriot Place). Even if you factor in concerts, the stadium is not used anywhere close to Disney's theme parks.

Yes, you should.

If you want to go places on that basis there are a multitide of options including larger venues with lower ticket prices and availability as well as teams who can't quite seem to win anything ever...at least in the last couple of decades. Although some of those charge for PSL's if you're talking season ticket holders... Jerry Jones can now cram substantially more than 100,000 into a game if he works it at his new shrine to his own ego where you can watch the mega video board from standing room areas that are actually on the outskirts of the stadium per se and probably allow for a discounted parking rate due to capacity.

I used to go to Fenway back in the day when you could get great seats on gameday for $10 and park for about the same - for Patriots as well as Sox games. Of course the tradeoff was those teams were laughingstocks and never won anything. It really sucks that life is all about choices and tradeoffs...and living in a capitalist society is only defensible when you're the one making the $$$.

I believe Disney World is open 365 days a year and their capacity and daily traffic is a tad larger than Gillette Stadium experiences 8 Sundays a year. They also don't have to pay their talent 7 figure salaries... They could cut their admission in half and still make a bundle. My cousin goes often and had to downgrade her on site hotel package to afford to on the trip she just booked because the package price had gone up almost 20% in two years in a down economy.

You are so pissed at the organization as a whole this season it's seriously effecting your thought process...

Mo, you really should stop trying to read into people you have no contact with. You do it with the Patriots and now you're doing it with me. I've never found the price of parking acceptable. That's why I've never once gone to a game where I'd have been on the hook for parking. If you're sucker enough to drop the price of two decent meals just to park and THEN shell out money for tickets, food and drink, that's on you.

And, seriously, don't talk to me about capitalism in this context, because part of capitalism is the ability of customers to tell the vendors that they can jump in a lake if they feel they are being overcharges for goods or services.

The last time i went it was bleachers, it was pouring rain, all i could see was a bunch of ants running around in red. I went under the stands at half time, water was pouring out in sheets where the stairs were creating man made water falls. It was ugleeeeeee.

Someone needs to set up a satellite shuttle lot at $15 a head to bus people in and out.

If someone does, you will find this guy floating face down in the ditch behind the Liquormart on rt. 1 in about two weeks.

Those lots are cash only so you can trust that Uncle Sam isn't getting his cut.

Seriously? They charge *FORTY* dollars to park a car in the middle of nowhere, where there is absolutely no lack of land?

Are you KIDDING me?

How on earth has this gone on without RIOTS? Isn't anyone else completely outraged?

It is what it is, if you don't want to pay it stay home and watch it on TV

You have decided not to attend games because of the price of parking, which is your right. I go to all of the games (I guess this makes me a "sucker" in your mind). But it is a fact that all of the parking lots are full every week. I wish parking cost less, but there is no rationale whatsoever for the owner of a business to charge less when people are literally lining up the pay the going rate.

If we had to pay to we probably would not have our season tickets. They suck plain and simple. Between the walk to the gate and the ridiculous process to get in it's almost better to stay home. The games in High Def nowadays are amazing. Tailgate in your backyard before kickoff and at halftime. It's a harder sell these days.

Indeed, supply and demand at its finest. I could see the cost of parking going up in the next few years

1.) Yes, I think someone who pays $40 to park their car for a few hours is a sucker. It's a personal thing. If you wish to spend your disposable income on going to NFL games, paying ridiculous parking fees, buying overpriced tickets and forking out cash for foods when the prices would be considered price gouging in most settings, that is your right. I'm sure that I have some purchasing habits which would lend themselves to you calling me sucker or some equivalent.

2.) There is obviously a rationale for the owner of a business to charge less. As a business owner, one need not screw the customer out of every possible penny.

Supply and demand, brother!

We actually park at the Rodman Ford lot accross the street and that one is $50!

It is a great lot, though. Nice back area with trees lining it. Very popular among tailgaters (and after all, football is all about tailgating anyway!), and thery have Port-A-Potties set up, and guys sell sausages before and after...

Back in the day, parking was left to whoever drove, but now, we consider part of our tailgating expenses and divide it up amongst all the participants...this way it comes out to like $5-$7 per man...

What would be an acceptable price for parking? People continue to show up and pay so why would the Pats make them lower. If anything they could raise them another $10 and people would still continue to show up and pay.

It's the majority of people that are "suckers" that pay money to park and then pay for tickets, food and drinks. Then there is the minority, like yourself who refuse to attend these games and pay these prices.

1. I would never presume to judge your purchasing habits or preferences.

2. The stadium and the parking lots are full every week, which conclusively proves that the product is not overpriced.

The only way to make it work is traveling in a larger group, tailgating and dividing up the cost. After spending a good portion of our disposable income on tickets we are not paying $20 each per game for parking. We are lucky to have family within walking distance of the stadium.

The majority of people don't go to games, so this is just another of your comments that make little or no sense. Now, please stop stalking me. Others will get jealous.

There are alot of people to whom $40 is nothing and not even close to the price of what they consider a good meal.

I'm still looking for those pepercorns, by the way. Sorry for the delay.

You may not judge mine specifically, but you'd surely say things like "There's no way I'd ever pay $x for that product." That's what we're discussing here. It seems personal because the product is something that some here are actually buying rather than being something neutral like "widgets".

2. The stadium and the parking lots are full every week, which conclusively proves that the product is not overpriced.

No, it doesn't. It does demonstrate the truism that some people will pay for overpriced goods and services, for various reasons. We see this all the time, in all sorts of areas. A classic, nice, example is people buying candy bars for school fund raisers.
