It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Contrary to popular belief, the LT does not play against the opponent's entire defense, and merely plays against the DE (or LB) across from him. Tenessee may suck, but Kyle VandenBosh does not.
I mean, the Titans and the Bucs are pretty awful, but Vollmer was matched up against one of the best DEs in the league against Tennessee, and Tampa's D isn't too bad. The teams are quite similar in that the defense is certainly good enough to contribute to a playoff run, but the offense is so bad that they might do better by punting on 1st down. Obviously there wasn't much extra strain because the defense was carrying their own weight, but Vollmer was matched up against VandenBosch and White who are both pretty good.
Can you honestly say that Light has better physical tools than Vollmer? I don't think it's a coincidence that the Pats have had their biggest offensive outbursts of the season with Vollmer starting at LT.
Fred Smerlas says Light is quicker ... Vollmer relies alot on his arms right now. Defenders will begin to knock his arms down with arm bars. Of course Vollmer will adjust ... in the view of Smerlas the kid is good but needs time and is not on the level of Matt Light.

No expert here... what about Volmer's play on the goal line when Hoyer took it in against Tenn?
Stylez White is pretty good? Since 2002, the guy has changed teams 10 times. Well, that is if you include his stint on the Orlando Predators (yes, the arena league team) in 2006 and 2007. But hey you gotta be pretty good to make it in the AFL so good that the shut down because there weren't enough players good enough to reach the level of play.
Seriously, even Stylez White mother doesn't think her son is pretty good.
Seabass is awesome... for a rookie. I think he will pan out to be a starting LT for us as soon as next season. Although he's been impressive overall let's see what he does against some tougher competition. I really like the way he plays- big and nasty. His physical ability is amazing, he just needs to use this time to gain experience and improve. What Vollmer has given us to this point is the ability to let Light heal completely without rushing him back onto the field before he's ready.
He's got more sacks than anyone on our roster not named Richard Seymour in the last few years.
