Even if Pitt were to win this year it would not be a tie for the following reasons.

1. 2 of the three PAts SB went through Pitt. Pitt never went through NE. NE dominated head to head, big time over the decade.
2. Pats twice set the record for consecutive wins, and set the record for consecutive playoff wins
3. Pats had 4 SB apearences, Steelers only three(if they go this year)

The Patriots clearly are the team of the decade but we need to ensure that Pittsburgh doesn't win the SB this year. Even if "we" still think they're the team of the decade there would be a viable argument for a tie - although I would disagree.

We blew our chance at GoAT two years ago and fate f*cked us last year. You know what we have to do this year.

What he said.

thats not even true. the decade is over as far as superbowls are concerned.. the decade of superbowls is from 2000-2009.. this year will be the 2010 superbowl thus starting the new decade.. final tally is pats 3, steelers 2...

That's incorrect. The NFL champion is considered by the year that the season started, not the date that the Superbowl was played. For example the Pats are the 2001 NFL champs, even if the Superbowl was played in january of 2002. I guess that's why they went with the Superbowl numbering, makes things less confusing.
