Interesting 2 rounder from a guy who I think used to be an NFL scout:

SaintsReport.com - News - Mike Detillier's Two-Round Mock Draft

For the Pats:

23. Clay Matthews, OLB
34. Alphonso Smith, CB
47. Patrick Chung, S
58. Jared Cook, TE

Other notable picks:

9. GB - Tyson Jackson, DE
11. Buffalo - Aaron Maybin, DE
16. SD - Rey Maualuga, ILB
18. Denver - Robert Ayers, DE
22. Minnesota - Everette Brown, DE
25. Miami - Darius Butler, CB
26. Baltimore - Vontae Davis, CB
27. Indy - Ziggy Hood, DT
29. Giants - Percy Harvin, WR
30. Tennessee - James Laurinaitis, ILB
31. Arizona - Beanie Wells, RB
33. Detroit - William Beatty, OT
35. St. Louis - Hakeem Nicks, WR
36. Cleveland - Clint Sintim, LB
37. Seattle - Connor Barwin, DE/OLB
40. Oakland - Alex Mack, OG/C
41. GB - Larry English, DE/OLB
45. Giants - Donald Brown, RB
46. Houston - Louis Delmas, S
62. Tennessee - Jarren Gilbert, DE

An obvious improvement would be

23 LB Matthews
34 TE Barwin
47 SS Chung
58 DE Gilbert

I'd be quite happy with that draft.

A better version would be

Beatty
Barwin
Delmas (I would trade up the one place)
Gilbert

Everette Brown is really taking a tumble huh?

I still think Matthews is Highly Over rated. Didnt even start till his senior year and wasnt even that productive. How does a guy go from a UDFA to a 1st round pick? It's the Mike Mamula Syndrome(work out warrior). Matthews is too small to play ILB for us, he might be 240 but he is a slender 240. He's not that good at rushing the QB either. Don't really think he is an upgrade over Woods or Crable. Personally I think he will be just a solid special teams player and backup.

On another note, one of the more Under rated OLB in this year's draft has to be Clint Sintim. He is everything Clay Matthews is not. I say go for the top Corner or Oline in the 1st then grab Sintim in the second.

My Mock(based on players who might be there when we pick according to rankings)

1-Darius Butler
2-Eric Woods/Conner Barwin
2-Will Moore/Clint Sintim
2-Jaron Gilbert

And lastly. I have Will Moore Ranked as my top rated safety. Barring Injuries I think he becomes a better than average starter for us, borderline pro bowler, obviously injury concerns and inconsistent play during his senior year has dropped him to the early/mid 2nd round. Also alot of ppl like Chung but he is too much like James Sanders for my taste. Solid safety but nothing special.

Doubt if Chung is still on the board at #47

Right on Mgteich with the Gilbert nod though I bet he's gone before 58. He's the stealth 3-4 guy no team is talking about hoping to sneak him in. In fact, I'd say the Pats would take him at 34, and most definitely would jump for joy should they look up at 47 and find him available.

I'd be OK with your four but Brady has 5-6 years left at prime form so I think a skill guy or two is in order when you're blessed this many early picks. Moreno will be OROTY and a star for years to come. If he slides to Detroit at number 20 the Pats would find a willing trade partner to flip flop 20 and 23 in exchange for the second or third pick the Pats have in the 2nd round.

Problem is Moreno won't likely get that low or other teams will be trying to make the same deal. That's why I smell Pettigrew at 23, though I know that will upset plenty of fans....

I love all these mocks you guys have but you are missing something. BB will not draft by position but rather by Value.
Some player/s will drop that are too good to pass on. Might be a RB or TE he feels is too much value at that position.
We will be suprised imo.

Why would the Pats trade pick #23 and pick # 47 for pick #20? The combined value of those picks is 1190 points which would be enough to get them up to pick #12 according to the trade value chart. Trading two high picks for a RB, when the RBs in this draft are likely to drop into round 2 is an even worse value decision.

Draft Countdown - Trade Value Chart

Drafting a good offensive tackle will do a lot more to help Brady than to draft an unproven RB who may or may not be any better than Fred Taylor.

I agree. Based on tape Mathews is a sixth round pick.

I would be extremely happy with your first round pick and certain combinations with the second round picks are gold.
