Agreed. CHB is a bitter old guy who just sounds like a jerk in that column. I'm not a perfect husband by any means, but I do try and open the door for my wife when he go places, and carry her bags so she doesn't. Am I less of a man becuase of that? Seriously, are you people all for real? Talk about taking things too seriously. Shaughnessy's doing a stupid humor piece in the offseason, because he's a bozo and thinks he's funny and has to turn something in.

Meanwhile, the fellowship of the miserable sitting around collecting their fake disability checks were just waiting to get a rise out of somebody and you won.

You should write in and complain to the Onion about their outrageous sports stories. I'm almost sure this story isn't accurate.

I remember when the Boston media did this with Joe Thornton, and the Bruins got pennies on the dollar for him because Joe just had zero interest in playing in Boston anymore with the media all over his back. The Bruins are probably better for it, but it took some brilliant strokes of luck and some real bad seasons.

The Boston media needs to shut up. If a journalist takes a vacation, does that mean he's going soft?

Screw Shaugnessey.....he knows exactly what he is doing. He set out to get reaction from fans and he got it.

These guys, Masseroti, Shaugnessey and their editors, etc etc are all the same - the only way they get to keep their jobs at their failing newspapers is to sensationalize, provoke, lie, slander and try to upset fans so we will read them, respond to them and click on their ugly faces.

I haven't read one article by Masseroti since he went off on fans last spring and have no intention of it. Shaugnessey has been a joke for years now. Since spygate i have learned to consider the source and motive of writers, websites and publications before going there. I seek football news and information, i do not need any petty, desperate, ratings driven crap.

It is not hard to get NFL updates from reliable, non agenda sources of which there are many (National Football Post, Reiss, Breer, Borges (yes, Borges) to name a few).

As for Tom Brady, I think the greatest QB of the decade can deal with anything these guys throw his way without caring in the least. TB will focus on all that matters, winning more Superbowls - remember, this is the guy that wants to leave the game as the greatest of all time, he knows the job is not done yet.

Anybody care to bet me that by the time he is done, he will achieve that goal??

A lot of posters on that thread seem to knock him. You don't have to be a Patriots fan to register or read that site, and a few people who are "out there" can give a false impression.

You could probably have a Globe column on how 9/11 was an "inside job" or how UFOs are abducting our kids or how the Earth is really flat, and a number of whackjobs would be all over it. It would not mean that their point of view makes any sense or represents any group of people. Their point of view might not even be one that they really hold- they might be trying to get a reaction (i.e. they are trolls).

Your so right on that and it is sad. Before this I can't remember the last CHB article I read. But I saw him criticzing my favorite player and had to read the crap that he was spewing and wouldn't have opened the article if it was not the garbage it was but I wanted to know what crap he was writing.....Now I wish I hadn't because I played right into his hands.

My ban of the CHB was unofficial but now yuo can add him to the list with the likes of ThomASSe. I will never read another one of his articles period.

Great post - well said. I encourage you to share those sentiments w the Globe or Shaugnessy himself - he'll continue to write things like this unless motivated to do otherwise.

I guess I should send an e-mail that way.. I usually try to take the whole “rise above it” attitude :snob: , but the globe is one source I still like (ed), I mean..c'mon.. its on the front page! I expect this cr*p from tmz and the inside track, but the globe?? Thats stooping to a whole new level.
Could it be that they are bitter over the whole Toronto interview?? (I know its prolly part of his myomed contract,but still) TFB is the man!

I am actually appalled by Shaughnessy. Does anyone really care what Brady does on his free time? His job is to play football, and right now to rehab. If he is rehabbing well, as reports indicate, what's the difference what the heck he is doing. Just because hes with an incredibly sexy woman during his free time getting lotion rubbed all over his body does not mean he is soft, does not mean he is not dedicated, does not mean he no longer is obsessed with winning football games. I think we should all write him a letter slamming him.

Just when you think Dan Shaughnessy is writing as badly as is humanly possible, he comes along with a steaming turd like this column and outdoes himself. Honestly, I'd have to check back through the archives to be sure, but this could be the worst piece he's ever produced, and that's saying something. Has there ever, in the history of sports journalism, ever been a columnist who was more out of touch with his (rapidly disappearing) audience? I mean, explain the logic to me. Tom Brady, the greatest player ever at the most important position in all of sports, is recuperating from surgery, six months away from reporting to training camp. Listen up, Curly Haired Boyfriend, and maybe you'll learn something. "We" like our quarterback to be fed by the world's hottest woman. After 3 Super Bowls he deserves to have those same fingers that she probably just used to pleasure herself back in the cabana in his mouth. As a matter of fact, he deserves nothing less. Mrs. Johnny Unitas and Mrs. Sammy Baugh were probably dumpy hausfraus with cankles like fire hydrants. Do you honestly think Colts fans and Redskins fans wouldn't have preferred to see those guys sitting pool side in the offseason getting handed food by Marilyn Monroe or Lana Turner, respectively? For all those guys did for their teams, they would've deserved it. All Tom Brady is doing is getting what he's earned. It's a spoils of war thing, and he owes it to his fans to score the greatest tail he possibly can, then come to camp in July ready to go. And he's doing it. So do us all a favor, Shank, and go back to writing unreadable garbage about Babe Ruth or the 1980's Celtics. But don't ever try to speak for us again.
