What will this region ever do someday when the inevitible downturn comes?

This region will become the lovable losers again. The Sox and Pats are probably going back down around the same time. The sox are getting old, and who knows how much longer Belichick will be around. We can assume that we won't go down until Bill leaves, and depending on how deep the talent pool is the coach afterward will keep them going a little longer. I expect a situation like the 49ers where we're not god awful until 10 or so years from now. The 9ers have only recently been turrible as Charles Barkley says.

After 18 years the 49er dynasty had to come to an end. So did Pittsburghs.
Finally in the 80's the Cowboys went downhill.
it happens.

What will this crowd do when someday the Patriots go through lean years again.

I will tell you. They wont be able to handle it. They cant handle one loss!

The bandwagon fans will go and we will find out if this franchise really is beloved or if we will go back to TV blackouts and 40,000 crowds.

As someone who has been a fan for over 30 years and was a fan when they were 1-15 and listened to home games on the radio, this younger crowd is pathetic. Absolutely no knowledge or perspective of the NFL.

there i feel better.....

I am a seasoned Patriot fan and I approve this message :)

The only way that happens is if the ticket prices continue to go up. $169 isn't exactly cheap in 2008, let alone what that ticket will cost in 2013.

Imagine what parking will cost in 5 years? $60 - $70?

If that happens, some enterprising soul will open a big parking lot off 495 and set up a shuttle service for $20 per ride round trip.

Good call. They could setup shop at 495 and also at Bickfords on 95 north of the Stadium.

Its going to be a long two weeks isn't it? This board is in meltdown fan vs fan mode right now.

Coming off the worst loss in BB's Patriots career doesn't help.

The 41-17 loss to the Chargers in 2005 was much worse than what happened on Sunday.

Possibly, but the 25-point pasting absorbed by the Pats Sunday was BB's worst loss in Foxboro.

By 1 point! As much as the 2005 edition of the Pats wasn't the best at least Brady played in that game. Although we did have Monty Beisel so I guess its a wash.

I don't know that it's the worst loss of his career with the Pats or not; maybe it just seems like it is because time has healed the sting of a few others:
February's SB loss to the Giants
2005 41-17 loss to Chargers
2003 31-0 loss to Bills
2002 loss to Broncos (Pats had at that point not won in 5 weeks)
2002 week 16 loss to Jets, crushing playoff chances
2001 30-10 loss to Miami to fall to 1-3, with just 69 yards passing
2000 scored just 3 points in loss at Miami to fall to 0-4 in BB's 1st season as Pats HC
2000 BB loses 4th straight, 19-11 to Cleveland, to drop to 2-8 and is firmly entrenched in last place in the AFC East, four games behind the closest team. Offense has scored more than 19 three times, but has given up 19 or more seven times.

BB and the Pats came back from these losses; they'll come back from this one too.
